Catherine met Thomas at an alternative music festival called DV8 in York. Like something out of a fairy tale, Thomas, who's band were playing, spotted Catherine across a crowded room while he was playing from the stage. After his set he went over to talk to her. Although they didn't see each other again for 12 months, they reconnected exactly a year later at the same festival and started their relationship.

If you're dreaming of pumpkin spice and snuggly knits then you are going to adore Kristen and Lloyd's wedding. Almost all of their reception decor was thrifted, bought online and/ or put together by the couple themselves. They hand-painted a globe to use as their guest book (LOVE THIS!) and made magnolia leaf place cards as well as gold spray-painted dinosaur toys for some added fun and a nod to the groom's love of Jurassic Park!

I've never been to a Jewish wedding, but celebrations like Shira and Irzik's make me hope I can one day. Look at all that joy! The couple were married in November (on the bride's birthday!) in Old Jaffa, Israel. Their wedding theme was mostly influenced by the bride's dress, made by Israeli brand Shimka. They still wanted to put their own spin on the day though (of course!) so they went down the hyper colourful, Mexican vibe for their theme.

And it's hardly surprising. Interior and fashion trends always filter down into weddings and these kind of elements are ALL of the high street right now. I remember dreaming of one day being able to afford to buy my own neon sign - now you can pick them up for under £100 from almost any store that sells homewares!

Kerry and Dan didn't have a pre-determined theme, they just wanted to include little bits of everything they love. Little nods to lots of different elements came together to produce a wedding that felt totally 'them'. From the Star Wars posters as table markers, to the homemade cake, DIY flowers and all the decor that they did entirely themselves. They were massively inspired by the weddings featured on Rock n Roll Bride and of course, good old Pinterest.

I think it's pretty safe to say that the UK is very much leading the way when it comes to alternative, quirky and unique weddings. In fact I probably hear about yet another alternative wedding fair popping up somewhere here on a weekly basis! Don't get me wrong, this is no bad thing, I remember when I was a bride trying to find ANYTHING remotely different was an impossibility. Today's brides are very lucky indeed!
