Brides wearing leather or denim jackets is nothing new (in fact I'd say it's probably one of the 'trends' I see more than anything else these days!) So, when a bride is able to take something we see a lot, twist it on it's head and make it 100% her own, well we are DOWN. That's precisely what Gia did when she married Adam in August. She wore a quite traditional dress but added a twist of 'her' with her custom made jacket by Charlotte Hudson.

Please allow me to be a broken record because HOT DAMNNNN, I am so thrilled with this cover! Nailing a cover-worthy shot is one of the most difficult/ stressful parts of creating a magazine so when we get it this right it fills my heart with JOY! I'm not even going to be modest about it because I literally love it so much. That glittery eye! The fluffy jacket! Her beautiful hair perfectly framing our logo - ugh it's all so good! I really hope you love it too.

Hold onto your handbags because my goodness do we have an utter beaut of a wedding for you today! Jody and Shane were married last summer and it was GLORIOUS. They met at an alternative bar in Camden, "Not the most romantic setting. I was climbing a pole into the ceiling tiles, he came over interested in what this multicoloured haired ape was doing!" the bride laughed. "We danced on some tables, kissed and exchanged numbers - Love at first sight you could say!"

There is so much to love about Roxanne and Andrew's wedding and although they got married in June, the witchy theme, which included tarot and crystal elements to the decorations, makes it perfect to share at this time of year! One of the things I love the absolute most about this wedding is how paired back and minimal everything is - less is more and all that! This gorgeous celebration proves that you don't have to go completely overboard with the decor and theme to still have a fantastic looking event,

When you think of a Friday 13th wedding you'd be forgiven for assuming it would likely be a spooky, horror or Halloween themed bash, but Elizabeth and Adam wanted to flip this idea on its head, instead opting for a wedding theme that represented their colourful personalities! The colour scheme primarily featured hot pink, lush tropical greens and metallic gold and oh my goodness does it look all kinds of wonderful!

Samantha and Mike were married in August and they had a few different priorities. They wanted to ensure that they didn't overspend (they rigidly stuck to their £11,000 budget), and they wanted the day to feel like them. They were hitched at Southwick D-Day Memorial Hall, which isn't a licensed wedding venue (so they did the legal bit a few days before) meaning they had a lot of freedom to do what they wanted on the day itself and it only cost them £750 to hire it for the whole weekend!

A Spanish Superhero Themed Wedding with a Belfast Music Hall Reception

Jamie and Michael had two very different wedding celebrations -  a small family-focused event in the scorching heat in Malaga and a second a few weeks later, for all the rest of their friends and family back home in Belfast... in the rain! The two events couldn't be more different (the bride even changed her hair colour between the two!) but both felt completely right for them. After all, isn't that what being a Rock n Roll bride is all about?

October 2007 was when I first started writing about weddings on the internet. As a newly engaged 23-year-old I was quickly disillusioned with the wedding world that I was presented with and although Gareth and I didn't really know what we wanted for our wedding, we knew we didn't want any of what the wedding magazines were showing us. Spend £30k? Travel in a horse and carriage? Wear a big poofy strapless dress and designer shoes? NO THANK YOU.

October 3, 2018

It's not often a wedding literally stops me in my tracks but as soon as Emma and Ian's Las Vegas wedding landed in my inbox I was OBSESSED. Their email read, "Dear Kat, we got married at The Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas on September 21st. The bride is Emma, a funeral director, the groom is Ian, a musician and artist. We had planned a holiday visiting friends in Vegas and thought it was the perfect opportunity for a quiet, intimate ceremony… Oh and the groom is a crossdresser and insisted on having a dress too."

Kitsch, Colourful, Mid-Century Wedding Party

Robyn and Ash were legally married in Vegas at the Chapel of the Flowers but they wanted to host a big party when they got back to Yorkshire for all their family and friends. The party had a really low key, retro and kitsch vibe, hosted at their local community centre. The flowers came from a local flower market, the cakes were from various supermarkets and the stationery was made by the bride. Instead of a fancy meal they served wood-fired pizza and the night ended with - who else? - an Elvis impersonator!

Red & White Rockabilly Wedding with Pigs!

September 29, 2018

For their winter wedding, Trixie and Sam were inspired by the resident pigs at their venue, South Farm in Cambridgeshire. As soon as they found out about them they decided that they had to incorporate them into the theme of the day. All the tables were named after different species with their own facts on the table markers. They added a tattoo/ rockabilly element with their choice of cake, place settings and the temporary tattoo station which was a huge hit with the guests.
