Oh, Alexis and Yiorgos. let me count the ways that I completely adore your wedding celebration! Married in September in Barcelona, they had a city hall ceremony followed by a bookstore reception in an industrial area turned artisan market just outside the city. Their wedding planner, Happy Endings Barcelona, did the most incredible job dressing the space with candles, chesterfield sofas, birdcages and flowers, and they pumped out a flog machine during the meal resulting in the most dramatic wedding breakfast ever!

So You Want to Write a Book..?

I got my book deal in April 2018. It was a big moment of celebration for me as it’s something I’d been thinking about wanting to do for over five years. I caution my use of words here - THINKING ABOUT – because that’s really all I’d been doing. I hadn’t actively been working towards getting a deal or writing a book at all. Because of this my experience of this whole process is probably quite different to that of someone ardently pursuing it. However, I hope sharing the things I’ve learnt throughout the process will still be interesting and useful to some of you.

How To Get the Best Out of Attending a Wedding Show

Emma + Rich

February 4, 2019

Going to your first wedding show can be a daunting experience. However, if you’re properly prepared and you go in with an open mind they are really, really fun! One of my very favourite alternative wedding shows is The Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza which is taking place on March 16th & 17th in Birmingham. I’ll be there signing books and showcasing our brand-new veil collection with Crown and Glory (it’s the only wedding show you’ll be able to see these beauties in-person this season) so I hope to see lots of your beautiful faces there!

Madeline Barr

January 21, 2019

I don't know about you, but for me one of the greatest things about stalking people on the internet is when they get married and I can all fall in love with them a little bit more! I've been virtually following Kaylah, aka The Dainty Squid, online for years (we share an obvious mutual affinity with colourful hair!) so when I saw her June wedding to long-term partner Jeff I was thrilled. I poured over their beautiful images for what felt like hours, soaking up every last beautiful drop. So, when their photographer Madeline Barr submitted them for us to publish I obviously had to say yes, and did so in about 5 seconds flat.

Marie-Luise Weddings

January 20, 2019

Kristen and Pete were married at Panama Dining Room in Fitzroy, Victoria. Their theme was very much influenced by their venue, and the bride's love of all things vintage. "The wedding was a goth/ tropical/ Art Deco in black and white mash-up," began the bride . "Think Flying Down to Rio meets The Addams Family. We also decided we wanted everyone to wear a hat, as Pete is known for always wearing one."

Colour. Laughter. Desert Magic. These are just a few ways to describe today’s gorgeous vow renewal in Las Vegas! Brighton based photographer Lisa Devlin was travelling around LA and Vegas on a family holiday in October and Rebecca and Johnathan, also from the UK, decided it was an opportunity too good to miss and booked her to shoot their vow renewal at the same time! Talk about winning the jackpot!

How to Book the Perfect Marquee For Your Wedding

Assassynation

January 11, 2019

If you're dreaming of an outdoor, woodland or festival style wedding, the likelihood is you're going to need to hire a marquee. Your venue tends to be one of the most costly parts of a wedding and doing things al fresco is no different. In fact doing the casual, laid back, outdoorsy thing can actually end up being even MORE stressful and costly than going for an indoor space as you'll need to think about things like electricity, loos and access.

Hong Kong Meets London: Guitar Shops, NOLA Jazz & Kilts!

January 10, 2019

Lottie and Dave were married at the Union Club in Soho, London. As they planned everything from Hong Kong, where they now live, they didn't see it until two days before the wedding but it ended up being completely perfect for what they wanted. They didn’t want a specific theme, just for it to feel like them. That meant photos in guitar shops, Chinese Lucky Cats, the men in kilts, NOLA jazz and a live jam session.

Twin Peaks Meets a Classic Vintage Wedding in Dublin

Wild Things Wed

January 7, 2019

The very best thing about running Rock n Roll Bride is the HUGE variety of wedding themes and styles that we see. People often ask me if I ever get bored at looking at or talking about weddings and my answer is always the same - how the hell could I get bored when I see such creativity and variety every day!? Ciara and Rowen's wedding falls firmly into the creativity camp. They took a classic vintage theme and added some David Lynch references, turning what could have been quite a traditional wedding on it's head.

Floral Rainbow Folk Festival Wedding

Emma Stoner

January 6, 2019

The wedding theme for Catherine and Tom's summer celebration was simply all their favourite things coming together into a colourful mish-mash. This translated to colourful flowers, homemade cakes, high street outfits and a fun-filled barn reception. They tied up lots of greenery from the woods with ribbons along one wall of the space and because the barn didn’t have lighting, they strung up loads of festoon and fairy lights for the evening.
