Clare Robinson

January 21, 2020

They chose a local village hall for their September wedding. This not only meant Bronia and Joe had a lovely blank canvas to decorate however they liked, but it was a really affordable option (£500 to have it from Friday morning to Sunday!) The groom wanted a really big wedding, but the bride wanted to elope, in the end they met in the middle (ahhh, the secret to a happy marriage right?!) and had something medium sized but relaxed and informal.

Both big music fans, Broden and Marnie met at a Jezabels gig in Brisbane. They bonded quickly, geeking out over their mutual music taste, and after exchanging thousands of messaged post-gig, they became a couple. They didn't officially get engaged in the traditional sense. They were apart for a few months (Marnie in London and Broden in Australia) and one night during a marathon five-hour Skype call they just kind of mutually decided that they should get married. Their relaxed and colourful day was held at Donnelly River Village in South West Australia. Erin chose a mustard wedding dress and Glen, a smart casual combo of brown trousers and a matching mustard bow tie. As we kick of 2020, I'm not sure I can think of a more perfect feature than this roaring 1920s themed vow renewal! And OMG is she a beauty! We feature quite a few vow renewals, but not often those of LGBTQ couples, so I was super excited to hear all about Kaitlin and Stephanie's love story. They wanted to celebrate their day with their closest loved ones and avoid anything to formal or fancy.

December 10, 2019

Julz and Andy almost cancelled their wedding... until they discovered Rock n Roll Bride (!!) Planned in just six months, the couple wanted a day that played homage to the art deco styling of their venue and the season in which they said their 'I dos'. The bride told us, "The magazine pretty much saved me while I was wedding planning. I almost cancelled the wedding so I could grow my hair and lose weight. I couldn't find any brides at all that looked like me... until your mag came into my life so thank you!"
