I think this wedding is quite different to the style I usually favour, but I still love it! The hat reminds me of going to English weddings where all the ladies wear big adornments on their heads. Photographer Courtney, described this day to me: Megan and Norm were married on May 30, 2009 at Willow Park in Louisville, Ky. That had no attendants, except for their "ring dog" Misha. Megan didn't opt for traditional hand-held bouquet instead chose to compliment her outfit with a huge, gorgeous hat. The Bride and Groom opted to accent their wedding with fleur-de-lis, a symbol of Louisville. While the guests noshed away on vegetarian friendly fare, trashcans were adorned with signs informing everyone that all the serving ware was fully biodegradable. The music before the ceremony and during the ceremony was provided by local musician friends, and the guests danced during the reception to the musical stylings of a ragtime band, Rascals of Ragtyme.

After posting Dana (of The Broke Ass Bride fame) & Hunter's awesome 'Fresh Hubby of LA' wedding video I thought I was done. I saw their phenomenal photographs by Dan of Chennergy (who shot their wedding for free!) but decided to not share them straight away as I assumed photography as fantastic as this would pop up on all the wedding blogs. However it seems that maybe everybody else had the same idea as me, and while I've seen their video everywhere I look their photographs seem to have fallen to the wayside maybe just a little bit. A Tokyo Story

I love Japan rather a lot (have you noticed that about me!?) I love the fashion, the food, the people...the Hello Kitty - everything. In fact I think there is nothing about Japan I don't like, and Tokyo is by far the most amazing city I have ever been to. So when I clapped eyes on Sandra & Richard's engagements by the fabulous Tealily Photography I had no doubt in my mind that a feature would be getting underway. Photographer Trish described their shoot: Joel and I waited at the old green carriage and the statue of the dog which seemed to be a very popular thing to do amongst the human sea of trendy Japanese and slighty overwhelmed tourists. I had only conversed with Sandra via email to that date and suddenly realised I had no idea who I was looking for until I spotted a couple of sweet faces pull through the crowd. We had decided to catch up for dinner since Joel and I were passing through Tokyo and decided to try and fit in a few shots before the light disappeared for the night. We weren't quite sure where to head for these photos in the crazy streets of Tokyo, but Sandra had decided to triple up this date as a bit of sightseeing for us and lead the way. One of the many things I love about Tokyo is how diverse the city is. One minute your under the bright lights of the Shibuya crossing, then you turn a corner and your right in front of an ancient shrine. I would live there in a heartbeat. Tina & Derek's engagements in a burnt out house are so. damn. cool! I am loving the fireplace, the awesome chair and the feather. These have such an intense beauty to them...much love! Photographer Jen Arthur also shot some post wedding portraits as the couple eloped so didn't have pro wedding photographs, which I can't wait to see too.

Sara & Matthew have sent me their wedding along with 150 of their favourite images from the day – and nope you didn’t read that wrong! While this may be slightly over the top I have to say it is indeed a rather fabulous wedding The couple had their ceremony at an old brick house under a huge tree with a few leaves missing where they hung bird cages to tie in their bird theme. They had their portraits at Princeton University and then headed to their reception at a Brewery and instead of the usual champagne reception, the couple served samples of local beer! Sara’s dress was Selena by Maggie Sottero and her Bridesmaids were by Niteline. The Bride embarked on a DIY frenzy making the ring bearer pillows, the table numbers, the aisle decor along with the tree and the flower centrepieces themselves – phew!

Jessie & Cat clearly love tattoos and even got matching skull & crossbones tats with the words 'Til Death' across their hearts - sweet! I am crazy in love with the baby Converse trainers used as a cake topper too, what a fabulous idea that is. Thanks to Molly for these - I will be sharing more of her weddings soon!

Kat Braman sent me this gorgeous engagement session/trip down memory lane. The shoot took place at various locations, culminating at the high school where they met - sweet! High Schools may not be the happiest time of everyones life, or the most glamorous locations ever, but this couple seem blissfully happy and Kat has made the old skool (did I actually just write that!?) location looks much cooler than any high end-swanky fashion shoot location ever could. Kudos lady!

Alysha & Javi are one of those couples that just sound so rock n roll that I wouldn't expect anything less then a wedding just like this one.What is so great though is that despite the rock n roll persona, this wedding still has so many gorgeous and super personal touches. The car that took them to their wedding was actually the car they had their first date in and all the flowers were based on the same arrangements the Bride's Grandmother had at her wedding. The Bridesmaids look awesome in their sexy black jumpers and pencil skirt combo and the Bride looks seriously amazing..and her shoes..oh the shoes! They are by Betsey Johnson and are just gorgeous! I am slightly reluctant to say this is one of my favourite, rustic, outdoorsy, shabby chic weddings ever as I seem to be saying things like that a lot..but I kinda can't help it. I adore every single details about this wedding, from the cute (almost kitch!) Mr&Mrs balloons to the Bride's stunning dress and shoes (shoes from Nordstrom, details on the dress to come once the couple get back from Honeymoon!) I am all about the love for this green wedding. The flowers, the cake, the Bridesmaid dresses and the umbrella (are umbrellas thethe new balloons!?) are just awesome and so so cute. I am particularly loving how the colour pops up in a load of different shades, don't be afraid to mix and match your colour tones, this wedding proves it looks absolutely fabulous.

Angelica Glass is one of those photographers that I wishI'd known about when we were planning our own wedding! Her style is so fresh and modern and she always makes her subjects look so flawless and model-like. Her attention to detail is beyond fabulous, there is something about the way she shoots these extreme close ups that just make everything pop! Well this post has turned into a bit of an Angelica love-fest right? What I was meaning to do was to share this new gorgeous wedding with you...the details from those sparkly blue Christian Louboutin shoes to the custom invitations, from the unique flowers to the Monique Lhuillier wearing Bride's awesome tattoos - everything is totally rock n roll fabulous, and the couple most definitely could be rock stars themselves! Oh... and the cake, and the Bridesmaid dresses, and the moustaches, and the Polaroid photo booth, and the fact the Bride is quite literally model-perfect... Smitten doesn't even cover it.

Okey dokey I think this most be the last post for today because I appear to have gone a little overboard in the old blogging department plus I am secretly hoping the hubby will be taking me out on a date tonight! These are an amazing set to round the day off with however as I got the cutest email accompanying the submission from Bride-to-be Soila Elena, who said: Hello Kat Let me start off by saying I'm your biggest blog stalker. I recently had my bridal session done with the coolest Angela D Photography- I told her what I wanted and showed her some of your posts and we went to work- I'll be married soon and so I asked her not to post any with my face and she did a great job! I hope you like them -because I loved them and it was because of you, so thank you very much. Now come on, am I gonna really say no to that!? Canadian photographer Tara McMullen told me all about this gorgeous day: Keira + Joe were married on June 13, 2009 on Algonquin Island in downtown Toronto, Ontario. The special part about the Island is that it is car-free and inhabited by just a small group of "Islanders" who live in the fewer then 300 homes on the Island. This is pretty remarkable considering it is located just a 15-minute ferry ride from the very busy downtown area of Toronto. It is a very intimate community :: an intimacy that was reflected in Keira + Joe's day - everyone felt like a friend by the end of the night. The ceremony and reception took place at the Queen City Yacht Club where Joe races boats in his spare time. A DIY-bride, Keira strove to save where she could - including creating her own centre pieces using potted plants. Every person wishing to attend the wedding was brought across Lake Ontario by a ferry that dropped them just outside the Club. The ceremony was held on the lawn, overlooking the Toronto skyline - it was stunning. The attention to detail was remarkable - the theme nautical. Their place cards were boating flags, and old fishermen figurines stood guard over the fruit trays during the cocktail reception. And it wasn't cheesy at all -- not an easy feat with a nautical/boating theme! One of my favourite parts was the kissing game during dinner. Guests were asked to create Haiku poems which were then read to the crowd. A poem earned a kiss. A memorable keepsake for the couple, and many good laughs were had over some of the poems! Keira's dress is an Alfred Sung, which she purchased from the The Bride's Project. The Bride's Project collects donated dresses from designers and sells them on behalf of several cancer charities. In Keira's words, "I got lucky, saw it as it was being delivered, and snatched it." :) What a stunning dress, and helps charity, too - amazing!
