Let’s Rock!

Kat

October 29, 2009

Today I'm going to share a bunch of wedding that quite simply put..ROCK! You'll know why when you see them. Starting off with guitars, grunge bands and Rocky! The bride, Lizzie told me all: The overall theme of our wedding was our favorite music. Rich and I both love music and we both play guitar. I play guitar and he plays the drums. So I was really important to me anyway to incorporate our insane obsession for music as well as keeping it traditional for our family who were providing the funds. However although our wedding was 2 years ago and unfortuantly your site wasn't around to get awesome ideas from I think we did a pretty good job. We did not have a guestbook, people signed a guitar which also happened to be blue & brown which was our wedding colors. In one of the pictures attached one of my BM is carring it into the reception. Our card box was a floor tom with a hole cut into the drum head. Our tables where named after our favorite bands, Hole, Nirvana, Babes in Toyland, patti Smith just to name a few. Our favor was a CD of our favorite love songs, Love Buzz - Nirvana - Good GOod Things- The Desendants - Because the Night - Patti Smith. Again just to name a few. Our Bridal Party when they got annoced to the reception all came in carrying guitars and walked in to Breed by Nirvana. They all acted out a rock n roll clique by smashing a guitar and etc. My cake was Blue with huge polka dots which is just cool in itself if you ask me. We went to Philly to get our picture take the Rocky Statue and I have a lot of really cool pictures from that also. Thanks to Lizzie & Richie for sharing their Rock n Roll perfect day with us!

Ruffled

Kat

October 28, 2009

You lucky lucky things, I have a couple of ridiculously gorgeous ruffled dresses to share with you today, starting with this yellow beauty. Photographer Apryl deemed Rock n Roll Bride worthy of being the first blog to share her work...like, ever. How awesome is that? Oh...and how awesome are these?! The dress, a Clifton Wilhite original found at Junkadoodle was a bit of a mess when they found it, however Apryl and her team, including Katie (who played model for the day) & Sally from Revolution Gardenwho supplied the masquerade masks cleaned it up and rocked out to get these amazing shots. Truly inspiring! Thanks to Apryl for sharing these. I can not wait to see more from you in future!

Plucked From a Love Story

Kat

October 27, 2009

I actually can't get enough of Josephine Sicad's photography. Not only does each frame have that darling vintage tone to it, but every image just oooozes love...like you can tell how much she adores her work from the photographs alone...does that make sense or am I rambling again? The images also have that 'cinematic quality that I've always adored, like the boys of MangoRED before her, Josephine's image appear as if they could have been plucked right from a movie about a love story. Go check out her Facebook Fan Page for more more more of this set! Thanks again to the ever lovely and wonderful Josephine for sharing these with me...I may be your new biggest fan! From the turquoise and orange pom poms and the personalised 'All You Need is Love' M&Ms to their friend playing 'Blackbird' by The Beatles and Dr Seuss' 'Oh The Places We Will Go' as gifts. Dressed to Impress – Part Deux!

Kat

October 26, 2009

Sandra & Duncan's 'Dressed to Impress' wedding made such a stir when I posted it in September that I have been eagerly waiting for more from photographers Chanelle & Craig. As you may remember, Sandra is a fashion designer so made her impressive dress and customised her own Casadei Couture shoes. Well the follow up is just as glorious - check out her inspiring reception dress, which she again designed and made herself. These are off-the-chart amazing - Carrie Bradshaw who? For all the juicy details on the outfits, the venue and the vendors head over to Segerius Bruce's blog...yummers! Credit: Segerius Bruce Photography

Happy Monday my lovelies. Being away from my computer for 2 days means I have a hell of a lot of stuff to now catch up on (good for you!) including announcing the finalists for the Love Me Do Photography contest - check back later today to check them out and vote for your favourites to win! Starting off the week in style is this stunning red haired bride. The shoot took place in a funeral home of all places (her father works there) but the setting certainly made for a rather grand and unusual backdrop. Yummy indeed. Lover’s Day Out

Kat

October 24, 2009

The gorgeous and ever lovely Josephine Sicad sent these over to me yesterday telling me the story of the engagement session of Yvon & Moyo. Remember her own engagement session that I featured a while back - Nobody Can Be Uncheered by a Balloon? (her own words) Well this one is just as glorious! The idea was 'A Lover's Day' a day in the life so to speak. I literally drooled as I checked these out. You will too! Thanks to the amazing Josephine for sending these over. It is always a joy to receive a n over excitable email from you! Credit: Josephine Sicad Photography

Pillow Fight

Kat

October 23, 2009

I saw a feathery sneak peak of Mary & Stephan's engagement session on their wedding coordinator's website and immediately shot and email to Erin & Court asking if I could blog them when they were all ready. Lucky for me they were of course delighted and I got the email this morning to tell me they were up. I knew they were going to be good because of the hilarious and fun 'pillow fight' scene, yet I wasn't expecting the rest - the balloons, the guitar playing, the balloons, the fun fair..eeek. These are just perfect! A massive, huge and ginormous thank you to Erin & Court for letting me be the one to share these simple beautiful images! Credit: Erin Hearts Court

Emotional & Theatrical

Kat

October 23, 2009

Classy, elegant, retro. These are the words that came to me as soon as I saw Rebecca & Justin's 1950s inspired engagement session. The shoot took place at The Ritz Ybor in downtown Tampa, a venue which perfectly reflected photographer Alicia's vision for the session. Rebecca's polka dot dress was from PinUp Girl Clothing and Justin looked the part in his trilby hat (which retails at $75 but he picked up for $6!) and waistcoat combo. Thanks to Alica for sharing these wonderful images with us
