Cowboys & Indians

Kat

December 1, 2009

I'm pretty sure none of the adjectives flying around my head as I look at these images can do justice to this ridiculously, spectacularly, awesomely, fantastically, edgy and wicked shoot! Alma & David got married in New Orleans and had a cowboys & indians style wedding! The pair actually acted as models in a workshop for 25 photographers who want to learn new techniques and to photograph a couple as cool as they are. I'm sooo excited that photographer Belen sent her shots to me to feature - thanks so much chick! Credit: Gerber + Scarpelli Weddings

Geeky, Gorgeous Wedding

Kat

December 1, 2009

And I mean geeky in the BEST way possible! I am a huge geek fan (and I even married one myself) Emma & Daniel had their very own geek fest wedding incorporating everything they love - gadgets, games, Japanese culture...and CAKE (seriously this sounds like my husbands dream wedding!) Emma looked beeeautiful in her Benjamin Roberts dress and Rocket Dog shoes, espeically when she walked down the aisle to the Edward Scisossorhands theme and out to Star Wars! They also had a wonderful super 8 film made which I can not wait to see (and blog) very soon! Thanks to Emma & Daniel for being so geeky and gorgeous!

First off a huge thank you to everyone who voted and especially to all the other bloggers and Rock n Roll Bride fans who blogged, facebooked and tweeted about the contest. Love you all! Right...on to the juicy bit - announcing the winners! As always it was a very close call and at one post their was only 0.14% between first and second place (eeek!) However, as we know, there can only be one winner who will receive a faaabulousa trash the dress shoot of their own design with the awesome Erica Berger...and those winners are....(dum dum duuuuuum!) Kelly & Sam with their zombie love fest! Congratulations you guys. Erica will be on touch soon to make all the arrangements! Woop Woop

Old Hollywood, Mexican Punk Rock!

Kat

November 30, 2009

Summer & Christopher's wedding took place in July in a cemetery/mausoleum where the bride's mother works at their beautiful 1920's era chapel - certainly made for some awesome shots huh!? Summer told me: "It didn't bother us that the chapel had a mausoleum inside of it. It's not that we were being purposely macabre, but we both have an understanding of the cycle of life, and felt that it would be beautiful, appropriate, and romantic, to have our wedding in a place which encompassed beauty and history. It was also a nice tribute to my mom, who brought me up with the understanding that death is just another part of life"

Cosmopolitan Bride

Kat

November 29, 2009

As I said on Thursday in my treats, I wanted to scan a few of my favourite real weddings and fashion shoots from the latest issue of Cosmopolitan Bride to share with you all. Not just because I'm mentioned in it (hehe) but also because Cosmo is by far the coolest, quirkiest and funkiest wedding magazine in the UK. It is in fact the only one I still buy. To everyone over the pond and beyond I hope you enjoy this unashamedly girlie delve into the world of the British bride.

We love Axioo at Rock n Roll Bride HQ...and apparently so do you. You've gone nuts over their darling and sweet videos and innovative and adorable photo shoots. I can't say I blame you, not with prettiness like this on show...and the giant Chanel bag pictures are almost too much to bear! The guys are traveling around the world over the next few months so be sure to get in touch if you want to be captured by them. You can see where they are going and when on their blog. Thanks David and the team for sharing as always! Credit: Axioo

Prop City

November 27, 2009

Funfairs may have been 'done' in terms of what the cool kids say is 'in' but who gives a monkey's about what they think? It's the same with balloons, candy floss and even sun flair...pah I say to that! The funfair is the perfect backdrop for an engagement shoot - fun, colourful, playful and prop city! I want a photo shoot in at a fun fair in fact. Any offers?! Can't get enough of this beautiful stuff? Well go check out Sandy & John's gallery right here Thanks to Shannon for sharing this adorably perfect session Credit: Shannon Nicole Smith

Rubbered & Brightly Coloured

Kat

November 27, 2009

Please forgive me procrastination as I bring to you this random but overtly lovely post all about my favourite prop - the humble balloon! I should be doing some proper writing right now (deadline booo!) but I got all distracted by all this rubbered and brightly coloured goodness whilst on my internet travels today I guess apart from all the prettiness I wanted to show how much variety there is in this darling little prop. I hope I have inspired you for your next balloon based photo shoot. Balloons been done? Pah! There's way more life in these little treasures yet... So..tell me, what are your favourite balloon pictures you've seen recently?

Til Death Do Us Part

Kat

November 26, 2009

This British groom and his Texan bride may have met at a Chicago Cubs game but flew back to Texas to get married. Both parties brought some of themselves into their day - most notablyin the cakes! Matt must certainly be a football (soccer) fan. I loving Holly's David's Bridal dress, the Rock n Roll graffiti portraits ('til death do us part' how perfect is that!?) and the masquerade ball-esque masks. Thank you to photographer, Belen for sharing these today

An Engagement Session on Steriods

Kat

November 25, 2009

Part two of today's love for The Philippines comes in the form of these stunning images sent by Jeffroger Kho. Arthur & Sheilan are one seriously cool couple and I am nuts about that purple dress! Jeffroger described this session as 'an engagement session on steriods' and I certainly have to agree. It's not everyday a photographer shoots a couple in a spooky, abandoned house that looks like it belongs on an Asian horror movie set or on a windswept beach standing in a box and wrapped in clingfilm! These shots seriously wouldn't look out of place in Vogue and I am smitten. Thanks to Jeffroger for thinking of me and knowing how much I'd love these when he sent them over!

Elegant & Quirky

Kat

November 25, 2009

I'm having a bit of a Philippines love fest today because as many of you will know I seem to adore everything that comes out of that country. The photographic style is so elegant yet so quirky, so fashion-let but so personal. Love love love. I'm starting off with newbie photographer Joey Boquiren who sent me Filmore & Margaux' engagement session...now tell me I'm wrong! Super stylish yet super sweet and personal right? Faaabulous Thanks to Joey for sharing these

Kat

November 24, 2009

When one of my favourite photographers, Matt Miller, joined on of my favourite photographic teams, Our Labor of Love, I just knew it'd be a match made in heaven - even more so now because they only went and shot his wedding! Matt and his new wife Danielle are the epitomization of what Rock n Roll Bride stands for - kick ass, rock n roll and individuality in weddings! I am so excited to share their wedding and bring you the full report on the day soon but to whet your appetite, I couldn't resist a little preview in the form of their Smilebooth. Oh yeah baby this is gonna be gooooooooood! Thanks to Jessie & Whitney and Matt & Danielle for sharing! Credit: Our Labor of Love
