Marty McFly: Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean? Dr. Emmett Brown: The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style? Back to the Future is my favourite movie. Like ever...I am also quite partial to the sequels and am still convinced that in 5 years time we will all have hover boards. I even have a die-cast Delorean on my windowsill that Gareth got me one Christmas...yes I am that much of a geek. So when I saw this engagement shoot starring my ultimate dream car (shh don't tell the Honda outside) well there was no way I wasn't going to feature it! "I was shooting this couple at an airport with their plane and some dude came out of the hangar and said that we should use his Delorean" photographer Carl told me. "I was like, YES AND YES! It was epic!"Read more...

First off, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for your support over the last year or so. I know I say it all the time, but I truly am in awe at every single on of you that visits my site, comments, sends me emails of love, send me submissions, sponsors me and generally allows me to live my dream! Because of every single one of you I've been able to go part time at my day job and spend 5 days a week doing what I love. It's amazing and it's all because of you guys. After the initial over-excitement of becoming a full time blogger, I got-to-thinking; hell, what am I going to do next?! How can I make Rock n Roll Bride even better with all this extra time? Well, as with most things in this career of mine, it's all just kind of falling into place. From the very beginning the blog has been very organic and real, and has grown slowly. I hope, in a genuine way. I never started my website to make money and in all honestly, becoming rich is not how I measure my success. As long as I can pay my bills and feed my kittens I'm happy. I didn't start the blog to be the biggest or most popular and I won't be turning Rock n Roll Bride into a money making empire now this is my main income so I hope you'll be pleased to hear! I measure my success on you guys. How many people read what I write and comment on the photographs I post and how and if I make you happy. It sounds soppy and idealistic but seriously, that it. That's me.Read more...

Because without him I am nothing. becauseI love him more than life itself. Because he cheers me when I am blue and helps me out when I need it. Because he is a man with feelings. Because he love pussy cats just as much as me. Because he is an uber geek. Because he helps out behind the scenes of Rock n Roll Bride for no other reason than that he loves me and is proud of me. Because he is my best friend and I need him to live. Because I don't always show my appreciation and he always forgives me.Read more...

I adore featuring weddings like Alexa & Andy's the most. British, quirky, emotional and fun! The couple got married at Birmingham Registry Office on Easter Sunday and had the awesome Steve Gerrard on hand to take all their photographs. The room was really modern and had a gorgeous courtyard outside which made for some beautiful portraits.Read more...

There are certain photographers that I equate to rock star status and Sean Flanigan is definately one of these. So you can imagine my excitement when he sent me Julia & Yuriy's recent engagement sesh for a potential feature. Would I like to blog them? Hell to the yes I would! Not only are this couple hella gorgeous but the simplicity of these images (no props, rad vintage car) makes Sean's amazing technically ability stand out even more and creates an utterly endearing and well, even more awesome set of images. I approve!Read more...

II love Jeff & Manya's wedding for so many reasons. The first has got to be Manya's gorgeous 'McKenzie' Modern Trousseau dress complete with swarovski crystal belt, Betsey Johnson shoes and hair piece by Lani Fisher (who works with Jill of Darling Bride who did her hair) and the second is those gorgeous flowers by Jen K Floral Designs. Seriously, aren't those yellows just amaaazing. The wedding overall had a yellow and blue theme - and it really works! The colours of the bridesmaids dresses looks awesome next to the uber 'pop' of the citrus blooms...and don't even get my started on Manya's fuchsia pink lipstick. Epic!Read more...

As you read this I will be sat in a tattooists chair trying my hardest to act cool and not over-react to the pain. Oh yes people I am getting a half sleeve! I have been dreaming of getting one for the past few years (in fact pretty much since I started doing this and staring at gorgeous inked brides all day!) so I'm beyond excited (and nervous) that the day has finally arrived. It will take a few sessions to finish but rest assured that I will be sharing the experience of it all with you when it's done and luckily for you (and me) I've already got a few photographers who've asked to take some photographs of me with it once it's done. Bonus! Anyway...on with this thing we call Thursday Treats. I'll see you when I'm back from the tattooists (eeeek!)Read more...

Kolby & Kennedy are all kinds of cute... and you know what? I still love balloons shoots. I'm sorry but I just can't help it I actually don't care if they're not 'cool' anymore. I mean especially when the couple are this gorgeous! How can you not adore this? Hher dress, his bow tie, those orange balloons, that light! - picture perfection.Read more...

Winchester-based photographer Angela Ward Brown sent these over the other day and I'm pretty sure you vintage lovers are going to adore them. The shoot took place at semi-derelict country estate near Winchester called Northington Grange, which is open to the public but it hardly ever used, except as for the odd movie and soap opera set!Read more...

Lee & Rose got married in Liverpool in a super duper stylish way. Rose's outfit is literally off-the-hook! Have you ever seen a bride look so damn funky? Plus (and you're going to love this) it is all from the British high street! Be sure to check out the full list of where each item was found after the photographic goodness. I am just mad about those tights... "There was no real theme as such, but the sort of couple we are means that we wanted something relaxed, informal and fun" Lee , the groom, told me "We wanted a simple wedding, we wanted to wear the outfits we wanted, we wanted to pay for everything ourselves, and more importantly, we wanted our friends and family to come and have a good time, not feel like they had to behave in a manner they normally wouldn't, i.e. no strict seating arrangements, not worrying about which knife to use to cut the bread roll, etc. We're not show-offs, and we're not millionaires, and we have our own sense of style, so we couldn't see the point in all this so-called 'traditional' excess that means the marriage starts off with £30,000 worth of debt! It just wouldn't be us.”Read more...

This is not the usual post I put up but sometimes there are exceptions to be made. I received an email from reader Claire the other day who told me "I nearly died when I saw these dresses". Hell, I can see why. Serious swoon-fest over here. I want them all! The Barcelona-based designer Maria Lluïsa Rabell blends contemporary subtle lines and elegance with amazing technical flair and ability. Unique, out-there and original. Have you ever seen anything like these? They have such a magical, romantic feminine feel don't they?Read more...

First of all, well done to everyone for all your patience. I have been very cruel and teased you for weeks about this new project (especially on Twitter hehe!) but I'm pretty sure you're going to forgive me when you see what I've been up to...You must also forgive me for the super wordy nature of this post, but there has been so much work behind the scenes to make this shoot happen that I can’t possibly do it justice without an epic explanation. A little while ago, the amazing Emma Case and I were talking about how crazy our lives are; about how everything seems to have exploded over the last few months and about how many awesome people we’ve met. “Let's do a shoot together” one of us said “hell yeah!” said the other. After we’d decided to actually go through with it and (as Emma later confessed to me) after a major bit of 'OMG what the hell am I doing'/freakin' out about it, a date was set. We didn't really know what the plan was. “Let's just go and have a play” we said.Read more...

This ghoulish, retro horror themed wedding may not be everybodys cup of tea but I can't help but be a little over-excited about it. So. Much. Originality! Photographer Al, who has just been shortlisted for 'Tattoo Photographer of the Year' was keen to tell me all about Ash and Michelle Ghoulmore's (oh yes!) friday the 13th wedding. The couple run retro rebels store and the horror-themed clothing company Kreepsville 666 so their wedding was always going to be a spooky special. 'Ghoulmore' actually is Ash's surname and they pretty much live Halloween everyday, so it was fitting to pick a horror / b-movie inspired Wedding theme. "This meant I had to light the formals in a slightly different way to ensure I got that punchy highly saturated contrasty feel that fits with the mood" photographer Al told me. "This was the first time I've seen a smoke machine used during the ceremony! The archway was decorated with skulls and light like a stage. As you can see form the photos the cake was a skull and all the attendees got to take home a set of cast-silver effect fangs to say 'fangs for coming' [groan]. Zombina and the Skeletones provided the live music for the reception, again fitting the horror-rockabilly theme."Read more...

Do you remember Becky & John and their 'Most Curious Party' wedding that I featured back in January? Well, the lady is not now only a vintage wedding stylist, supplying vintage trinkets, teasets and details other brides and grooms to be (check out her company A Most Curious Party) but she is a brilliant writer. She was tasked with writing a piece on bridal jewellery trends for trade magazine 'Jewellery Focus' and she asked me to help her out. It was of course a pleasure and I'm more than happy after seeing that I've been put alongside gorgeous images of Flo & Percy, Pearls & Swine, Vintage Magpie and Karin Andreasson.Read more...

You're going to love Erica & Ryan's homespun, diy wedding...and you're certainly going to love their story. I was over the moon to receive these gorgeous images from photographer Katie and even more chuffed when Erica got in touch with all the juicy details. "Ryan and I originally thought we would just have a courthouse wedding, and then have a big party. Of course, our parents were not so thrilled with the idea. We also did not want anyone else planning or making decisions for OUR wedding/party, because we did not want it to be the same old wedding and the same old reception that we've all attended twenty times before. Nothing against traditional weddings, we're just not traditional. We also were looking to keep it cheap simply because we think it's silly to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a few hours. All we really needed was the two of us looking snazzy and an amazing photographer."Read more...

Check out Ursula & Chris' fantastically cool wedding. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw her Claire Pettibone dress (I wrote about these dresses a while back beacause they are called the 'rock n roll bride' collection!) Oh holy black tulle! "'I fell in love with my 'Midnight' gown from Claire Pettibone's rock and roll bride range the moment I tried it on. The mix of vintage style, beautiful beading, delicate embroidery and edgy black train make it a very special dress. I just loved the way my long veil looked against the slightly gothic black train. Breathtaking!" Ursula explained.Read more...
