It was really important to Dawn & John to have a stress-free and personal wedding. John proposed on a bridge in Paris after the couple had been together for sixteen years (erm, excuse me guys but you don't look old enough!) John is in a band, and although he's used to being on stage, he was super nervous about having all eyes on him at his wedding, so his understanding bride-to-be promised a low key and intimate wedding.Read more...

Bethany & Doug were married at Houston Station, Nashville. The bride wore a black Betsey Johnson dress. "My dress was a big deal," she began. "I had originally purchased a vintage inspired white dress and the bridesmaids were going to wear black but I kept thinking about a photo I had seen of a model bride in black that our photographer had used as an ad for her studio. I really wanted to wear black but I was having a hard time finding one that didn't look goth, since that's not my style at all."Read more...

Sally & Clifton's city wedding had a classically elegant but quirky vintage vibe. The wedding was held at Century Club on Shaftesbury Avenue, London, which really set the relaxed tone of the day.Read more...

A slight deviation to the shoots I usually feature but I loved Elbie & Derek's (yes the very same Elbie who does my hair & make up for most of my shoots and events) post-wedding but non-bridal shoot with Lisa Jane Photography is just too gorgeous not to share! "When the wedding rush was over, I realised that Derek and I were only going to be a young, loved-up couple for a while (as opposed to an older, loved-up couple, that is!)" Elbie told me. "We wanted to do a shoot that was personal, a bit gritty, and true to us."Read more...

Arguably the most important part of your wedding day, but one that is so often overlooked until the last minute of your planning, the ceremony is the area I wanted to add some advice to this week. Enjoy! Emma Smyth If your bridesmaids are going to walk in first make sure they give each other a second before the next so the photographer can get a clear shot of each one! Then Brides.. give yourself time too! It's your moment!Read more...

Nanda & Lee were married at Casa de Santa Teresa right in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. Although they followed some tradition, for example in Brazil its traditional for each bridesmaid to wear a different colour, they wanted to put their own stamp on their big day.Read more...

Last weekend I was exhibiting at The Designer Vintage Bridal Show. It was so exciting to meet so many of my readers and hurrah for you all being brave enough to come say hi! I think the Rock n Roll Bride Magazines may have helped... The buzz around the mags at the show was tangible. Everyone was asking us questions about it and wanting to get their mitts on a copy. Words can't express by enamor at seeing every person in the place walking around with a copy of the magazine! In fact many of you even tweeted me photos of you (or your pets!) with the magazine afterwards which made my day!Read more...

"The theme for our wedding began as a circus/carnival inspiration and grew to encompass woodland creatures, feathers and various fancy dressed individuals from badgers to unicorns, not forgetting the now infamous family of bears!" newlyweds Toby & Isa told me. "We did things differently, just simply because that's how we are and to have had any other style of wedding or traditional ceremony would have not been true to us as we are not religious. However we did have a beautiful blessing with Sally our Interfaith minister and we wrote our own wedding vows."Read more...

The garden wedding of Emma & Nigel was held at the groom's parents house in Brisbane. Emma explained, "The wedding was a mammoth team effort for about a week before the big day with people flying in from all over the place, gardening, weeding, cooking, shaving, marking and reporting (I'm a teacher getting married the day after the school term finished!) Somehow I still managed to sneak in a quiet moment with my bridesmaids to watch Dirty Dancing the night before and eat copious amounts of fish and chips and marshmallows.Read more...

I don't say this lightly, but Lenore & Ryan's wedding may be my wedding of the year! I simply love everything about it - from the bride's incredible pink ensemble, to the family-central cuteness of the whole thing. I've also realised that I definitely need to add some more giant bows to all my outfits. I don't know about you but I kinda want to live in this wedding...Read more...

Before my shoot at The Photography Farm, the 'farmers' (as they've become affectionately known) were treated to a beautifully styled engagement shoot with Heather & Rob. The couple have booked Lisa to shoot their wedding in April and very bravely agreed to have their engagement shoot at Photography Farm. They told Lisa of their love of camping so the styling team ran with that theme! Hazy Days lent them 'Sandie' the caravan, Paper Pom Poms made some well..paper pom poms and Hannah of The Tea Set brought everything together!Read more...

Hi Kat, Firstly, I wanted to say that out of all the blogs I visit over various genres, your's is the most consistently updated and therefore interesting blog I've come across. My predicament is that me and my future husband are planning our wedding from London to take place in our home New Zealand. We are flying back there in February to get married on the beach with our closest friends and family.Read more...

I'm a huge Wizard of Oz nerd, so when wedding photographer extraordinaire Lisa Devlin asked if I fancied attending her first Photography Farm workshop to model in an 'After the Rainbow' themed styled shoot...well my biggest concern was whether I'd actually get to wear some ruby slippers...and you know what? I did!Read more...
