January 30, 2013

Noel & Dee's Cork wedding had a laid back, bohemian vibe and was held at Ballyvolane House. The ceremony was held outside in the woods. "The owners of Ballyvolane House, Justin & Jenny Green and their wedding coordinator Breffne McKenna organised our ceremony and reception flawlessly", began the bride. "We didn't have to worry or think about anything on the day as everything went so smoothly. Even when our celebrant didn't show up, there was no issue as Justin stood in to conduct our ceremony in the woods. This made it even more special. Our guests didn't know any different, and just assumed Justin was the celebrant until he came around during the reception with a tray of champagne. Some of the guests commented that we were really getting our money's worth out of him! We can't thank them enough for going above and beyond in every way."

I can't say I ever remember featuring a Polish wedding on my blog before, but if this is the kind of standards they're setting, then I seriously should be posting more of them! There's so much wedding gorgeousness in these images I can hardly contain myself. Martyna & Piotr were married in Warsaw. The ceremony was held at Jablonna Palace and the reception was at U Różyca, a private farm just outside of the city and right by Lake Zegrzynski. The reception was basically one big party! Laid back, unpretentious and with everyone pitching in to help.

Sarah & Paul and were married in September at the royal observatory - Queen's House in Greenwich. They went for a English vintage theme with a twist. It reflected the things they love in their everyday lives. "The wedding theme was English vintage as I am big into my vintage clothing and music so things needed to be pretty but with an eccentric twist", wrote the bride. "I didn't want it to be a Cath Kidston wet dream and neither did I feel that an out-and-out rocking festival would have suited us so we went for something in between! I love typography and so that was instantly worked into our invites and other paper goods (I made the majority using pretty parchment card and downloading fonts from the internet)."

A Blogcademy Brouhaha

January 23, 2013

No sooner had we wrapped the first London Blogcademy, than Gala, Shauna & I were ferociously planning for the weekday instalment. We're kicking off our second event today and we couldn't be more excited! Reworking the presentation, tweaking our delivery and coming up with brand new ideas, we are adamant to make every session better than the last. In fact we spent most of our 'day off' (i,e. day of shopping) stopping every five minutes to brainstorm. Gala scrawled musings on her Wagamama place mat and I sent Shauna more jam-packed emails full of notes than I think she really expected.

Casey & Caitlin were married at Dos Picos Park in Ramona, CA. They wanted their wedding to be laid back, fun, but most of all very 'them'. "My inspiration was to keep things very us", began the bride. "Well actually, our theme was 100% Caitlin, with a splash of Casey thrown in here and there! I have been to weddings that are gorgeous and looked at hundreds on blogs and in magazines when looking for inspiration for our wedding. I have liked many of the things I've seen, but none of them were really right."

What could be more fun than a backyard BBQ, a ceremony in Central Park and a pizza party?! Well that's exactly what Jared & Nakia chose to do for their New York wedding. Unusually though, this couple opted for their casual BBQ reception to take place the night before their ceremony, in the groom's brother's back garden. Then the following day, after the ceremony, they went off - just the two of them - for portraits and pizza!

His eye for detail and the way he see the world is so unique and oh so beautiful but completely bad ass.

Are You Embracing Video?

In today’s fast moving and highly competitive digital marketplace, it is more important than ever that you and your brand make a good first impression on a potential client. Despite the numerous ways to connect with people online, it’s still very much true that nothing quite sells like a real person, and having a genuine connection or affinity with the person you’re talking to. In fact last year Liene Stevens of Splendid Communications published the results of an extensive survey of thousands of engaged and newly married couples which reported just that. 97% of couples said that a potential wedding supplier’s personality was either ‘very important or ‘mattered’.
