Oh I do love when I get to blog both the engagement shoot and wedding of such an awesome couple. I actually don't post too many of the former, but Jesse and Chris's cemetery session really stood out so I just had to! I made their photographers, Sarah and Rachel of Sugar and Spice Weddings, promise that she'd send me their wedding pictures after it happened too, and I'm thrilled to share them with you all today. You'll see why...

Waterfront Garden Wedding: Mallory & Euan

Jonas Seaman

November 4, 2013

Mallory and Euan's wedding was held in the bride's Grandparent's house in Seattle. They had the ceremony in the front garden, overlooking the ocean, and the reception in the back! "I would say the biggest thing that defined our wedding was he fact that although we live in London, we decided to have the wedding in my hometown, Seattle", Mallory began. "Ever present in our minds were the constraints of logistics, timing and budget. We both arrived in Seattle three weeks before the wedding for a marathon of final preparations, crafting and trying to squeeze in quality time with all the amazing friends and family who helped to keep us sane."

Thursday Treats: Blissful Spa Days, Koala Cuddles and Surfing Beach Babes!

Kat

October 31, 2013

Well, Queensland you certainly haven't disappointed! After a 24 hour journey (London to Dubai to Singapore to Brisbane) I touched down in Australia just before 1am on Sunday morning. I was dreading having such a long flight but I need not have worried. I flew with Emirates, who I’ve never experienced before, and they were amazing! The planes not only had wifi (!!) but power outlets behind every seat… which, when you’re a computer addict like me is a total revelation! I spent most of my time in the air obsessively devouring Homeland episodes (my latest TV obsession) and writing – bliss!

Megan and Tom had a chilled out, backyard BBQ wedding held at a friend's house. "We wanted the whole experience to be a representation of ourselves and our relationship", Megan wrote. "While we wanted everything to look beautiful, we didn't want it to be perfect or overdone. I went shopping in thrift stores for all kinds of mismatched vases that would compliment each other. At the end of the night. guests were allowed to take all of the assortments home with them."

High school sweethearts Kim and Michael were married at Cielo at Castle Pines in Colorado. Their wedding was bright and colourful but most of all fun and reminiscent of the time they started dating. We had bright sunset colors in our flowers, lighting, table cloths, attendant dresses and ties, and even on our wedding cake. Marriage Mantras: Letters From my Mother

When Gareth and I got married, there was one couple we really looked up to an amazing example, a benchmark if you will, of a successful marriage - my parents. They not only got married around the same age as I did (at 24) but they have now been married for over 30 years. Although their backgrounds were quite different (my Mum grew up in Dublin and my Dad in the UK) we admired how they always seemed so happy and in love, even after all those years.

Thursday Treats: OMG Australia, Here I Come!

Kat

October 24, 2013

I have no idea what's in store for me over the next three and a half weeks. Having such a packed schedule recently means that I've had little to no time to research much of what Gala, Shauna and I will be getting up to while we're down under. Thank goodness for Virgo friends who obsessively arrange everything on your behalf! All I do know is the week before our first class in Brisbane I've been promised a spa day, surfing lessons, koala cuddling and zip-wiring through a rainforest. WHAT!? Oh you bet ya I'll be reporting back on all this stuff when I return.

Vintage and Fun Country Club Wedding: Kat & Andrew

James Melia

October 24, 2013

Kat and Andrew had a colourful wedding and took inspiration from the bride's tattoos and of times gone by. "We planned our wedding by the rule ‘do what you’d do if you didn't know what was done’, as we didn't want to go along with traditions that we didn't understand or necessarily agree with", Kat wrote. "We both saw our wedding day as an opportunity to throw a massive party for all of our family and friends, which made planning so much more fun! It’s far easier to be creative when you’re not preoccupied with what you think you ought to be doing, or with what you think people expect of you."
