Colourful Geeky Gamer Wedding: Sam & Stu

May 22, 2014

Sam and Stu met at college and bonded over a mutual love of video games, "primarily how to get the knights of the round summon in Final Fantasy 7!" Sam laughed. So needless to say, when it came to tying the knot, the very thing that brought them together was to be the theme of the wedding. " We’re game geeks to the core! We wanted sleek quirky bright design with our gaming interest being the centre of it. We play tabletop RPG’s, board games and regular old video games."

How Do I Know What to Charge?

Kat

May 20, 2014

Hi Kat A quick query: how much do you charge for product reviews? I am a virtual vet. I also have a blog, posting every day. This is becoming a larger part of my workload, but I do it for free, which is a challenge. Part of my mix is a weekly product review, which I have done for free up till now. A PR company told me that one of the reasons that they use me is that I am free whereas people like you charge a fee. So hence my question: how much do you charge?

Crazy for Coconut: 10 Ways To Use It

May 19, 2014

I promised myself that 2014 would be the year that I finally started taking better care of my body. I don't know if it's hitting 30 that's done it, or the fact that I'm going to be on the road so much, but I desperately feel the need to give myself some TLC as often as possible. I'm eating better, I'm trying (but failing) to drink less, and I'm investing in some really great beauty products and treats. But taking good care of yourself doesn't have to be an expensive exercise.

Devlin Photos

May 18, 2014

For the photo shoot at the latest Photography Farm workshop, photographer Lisa Devlin knew she needed to do something big. After all, at the last Farm Gareth and I got married again! After seeing Megan and Grant's gorgeous wedding on Rock n Roll Bride, and reading how much Megan loves Disney (and just so happens to resemble a certain crimson haired mermaid) the ideas started bubbling away. She wanted to put a different twist on the mermaid idea though and eventually came across the story of Rusalka, from which The Little Mermaid movie was based. Luckily Megan and Grant also loved the idea and we're thrilled to model for her!

May 15, 2014

Travis and Erin challenged themselves to spend no more than $5000 on their wedding - and they did it! One of the key things about this wedding was that they kept it a secret from their guests. That's right, they had no idea they were going to a wedding that day... they all thought they were just there for an engagement party! The day was held at The Briars Homestead Garden, Mount Martha, Australia.

Shell De Mar

You know me, I'm no wallflower, so when Claire's asked me if I'd like to play dress up using some of their brightest of the bright brand new hair adornments, I really couldn't say no. When that trademark lilac packaging landed on my doorstep and I tore into it, I was greeted with so many pretty florals and bright colours that it instantly lifted my hump day mood. I immediately started thinking of ways I could dress them up, bridesmaid's style!

Sprung Photo

May 14, 2014

If there's one thing I love more than anything else it's cats. I am a bona fide and unashamed crazy cat lady. I'm the one who'll say hello to the feline in the room before the person I'm actually there to see... So you can imagine my elation when Anita and Paul's cat/ music themed wedding landed in my inbox! These guys went all out, even so far as the bride and her bridesmaid's carrying stuffed cat toys instead of bouquets! And yes, the bride did throw her 'bouquet' at the end of the night. Oh my fluffy goodness...

20 Ways to Keep Your Facebook Page Active

Kat

May 13, 2014

Like most small business owners, I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook. We all might moan about whatever new development they implement next, but it is still, by far, the social media channel that brings the most traffic to my blog, and the one where the most reader engagement happens. Although the reach of your page may be decreasing due to whatever it is Facebook is up to at the moment, it is still a vital tool for any small business owner.
