October 23, 2014

Michael and Gordon were married in Brighton. This super stylish pair both wore two amazing outfits each - Michael's both from Burberry and Gordon's, Reiss. They wanted their wedding to be laid back and fun for their guests and themselves. They had just 40 people there and did things that made them really happy. That included funfair rides at the end of Brighton Pier and a romantic sky message!

How To Deal With People Who Want to ‘Pick Your Brain’

Kat

Val and Sarah

October 21, 2014

Dear Kat I understand the irony of my emailing you about this, but I need your help! I'm a wedding photographer and my business is going pretty well. I've been shooting full time for two years now and I'm really proud of how much I've achieved. It's taken a lot of work, but it's been worth it! My problem is, I'm now starting to get a lot of emails or private Facebook messages from friends and strangers asking if they can 'pick my brain'. Sometimes they fire questions at me, but most of the time they're asking if we can meet for coffee or if they can come and see how I work at a wedding! While I'm honoured that people think I'm worthy of asking advice, I can't help but feel annoyed about it. I've worked my BUTT off for the past two years to get to where I am, and these people seem to want me to give them all the answers for free! Don't they realise there's no quick answer and that hard work and time is really what it takes? You must get a lot of this too so I was just wondering if you had any advice on how I should deal with it?

October 18, 2014

You might think that there's nothing more traditional in English weddings than a country garden setting, but Abby and Hoi's big day was anything but quaint! They took the traditional elements and turned them on their head. From the bride's short polka dot dress and purple hair, to the Hello Kitty cake and the vintage ice cream cart for dessert, this was a wedding that was quintessentially 'them'.

October 16, 2014

Lor and Nico were married in France. An artist and a musician, they were always going to have a creative wedding. The bride handled most of the décor herself. "As an artist, Lor loves colour, and since this is part of her job she was keen to take care of the décor herself". began the groom. "She did the invitations and the entire venue set up. I play and sing in a Rock n Roll band so we also wanted an element of Rock n Roll in the day."

My One Wedding Day Regret…(Don’t Make it Yours!)

Kat

October 15, 2014

Looking back at my own wedding day, there's only one thing missing. The day was, for all intents and purposes, completely perfect, and while there might be a few stylistic things we'd do differently now, the day went off without a hitch. My only real regret about our wedding is that we didn't have a videographer. As the memories of that amazing day started to fade, I wished there was some footage I could look back on to relive those precious and fleeting moments. Unfortunately it just wasn't in our budget. However, if we'd known of a company like this one, who offer photo AND video packages, things might be very different.

Jordanna Marston

October 15, 2014

Hannah, a wedding photographer, and her husband James decided while on holiday in 2013 that they wanted to renew their vows. They decided to do it in France in July this year. They only brought their two children with them as witnesses, but having a great photographer was also really important to them. They booked Jordanna Marston to go out with them from the UK. The ceremony took place on the banks of Biscarrosse Lac.

October 14, 2014

If you've been wondering when The Blogcademy's 2015 dates were going to be announced, then wonder no longer because I'm pleased as punch to be able to spill the beans today! But that's not all! One of the things many of our 600-odd students have told us after attending the workshop is how they wish there was an advanced class that they could come back to. They wanted to know more about the nitty gritty of running a blog or business full time, and they wanted us to let them in on the specific details of exactly what they need to do to make the big bucks! Well, we've listened, and today I am overjoyed to announce that The Blogcademy Level 2 is ready and raring to go!

A Rock n Roll Blogiversary & Five Little Lessons for Aspiring Bloggers

October 13, 2014

I don't remember the exact date I started blogging. My first site got deleted in a moment of technical clumsiness sometime late in 2008, so my earliest posts are no longer on the internet. I'm actually rather pleased that my initial foray into writing about weddings is gone forever though because, man, that shit was embarrassingly bad! I do know that it was sometime during October 2007 that I registered my domain, which makes Rock n Roll Bride SEVEN years old this month and a relative dinosaur in the wedding blogging world!
