With a budget of just $2000, Matt and Kat said "I do" at their own home the day after Halloween. "We christened our newly purchased house for our wedding!" the bride said. "We had spent several months renovating the old home’s interior but hadn't moved in yet, so all the rooms in the house were empty. We transformed a (future) bedroom into a bar, another bedroom into a dinner/pot luck area. We strung friends’ borrowed Christmas lights all over the house, set up a PA system in the empty living room and called it a venue with a dance floor! Our new neighbour, George, who became a great friend during our move, let us perform the ceremony in the empty lot next to his house."

Thursday Treats: David, Britney, Sequins and Silliness!

Last week I spent five glorious days in Las Vegas. While a lot of people claim that a couple of nights in Sin City is more than enough, I couldn't disagree more! I had a great time and could have stayed for a month! I'll be writing all about my trip in epic detail soon (including sharing all about the David Copperfield and Britney Spears shows - both were incredible!) If you're planning to marry or honeymoon in Vegas you are in for a treat.

Medieval Banquet Wedding

Ross and Gem were married at the Medieval Banquet Hall at the Park Hall Hotel, which set the theme for the day. "Our inspiration came from our love of ‘old’ England", began the bride. "We adore its majesty and history. We weren't particularly taken by the ‘average’ wedding with pastel colours, white linen, paper straws and sugared almonds, ans we wanted something people would remember. I also wanted to do loads of DIY in the run up. We spent a lot of time making sure that everyone would be entertained throughout. Not many weddings have fire eaters and King Arthur as the toastmaster!
