Helping my sister plan her wedding is taking over my life! OK, I'm totally kidding, but I have thrown myself wholeheartedly into the process. The first port of call has been finding a suitable venue, and goodness isn't that bit hard? We've been looking high and low for somewhere to host a festival style wedding around Berkshire/ Oxfordshire that doesn't cost the earth and isn't already booked up for next Summer and it's proving tricky, but we'll get there! I found the whole venue finding thing the hardest part of planning our wedding so I guess nothing's changed there. If you too are having a venue search nightmare, I feel your pain!

Like any good teenage goth, I grew up with a slight fascination with vampires. From Blade to The Lost, Boys, From Dusk till Dawn to Interview with the Vampire... I even not-so-secretly loved the universally panned Queen of the Damned (well, the soundtrack was good!) So when photographer Lisa Devlin showed me the Dracula inspired bridal shoot that she created at the last Photography Farm workshop, I was super excited to share it!

A Home-Brewed Winter Wedding

Anna and Liam were married in Louisville, KY on December 20th. The day had a winter and Christmas theme with lots of homemade touches. "We knew that we didn't want something formal or scripted for our wedding", said the bride. "Instead we wanted a big party! Neither of us are one for formal events, and we knew we wouldn't feel genuine having the cookie cutter wedding. We wanted something laid back and enjoyable that didn't break the bank and I think we succeeded."

Industrial Meets DIY Wedding at Thwaites Mill

Leeanne and Zak wanted a DIY wedding in all senses of the word. Initially they weren't even going to have a professional photographer, but thankfully some friends convinced them otherwise! While this was a bigger expense than they were planning, they were able to counterbalance that with lots of savvy money saving options. The bride's dress was £29 in the Monsoon sale for example! Their ceremony was at Leeds town hall and their reception at Thwaite Mills, an industrial museum, also in Leeds.
