Lori & Nick were married in Hawaii in November and weren’t 100% happy with their professional photographs. While they were lovely, they didn’t have any pictures of Lori getting ready, and very few pictures that broke any boundaries.
Lori loved her dress, and she really wanted to have some more shots taken that she could really treasure, “That’s when they found me,” explained photographer Sarah Maren . “We got together at the lovely Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento where Lori and her Mom had spent a girls night.”
“We were able to get pictures of Lori’s Mom helping her get dressed (something she missed out on doing at the actual wedding because she was busy setting up the ceremony space.) We then braved the cold and rain and rocked out an incredible portrait session of this beautiful couple. We ended things under the freeway with Lori lying next to a drainage grate. It was perfect!”

Åsa & Daniel's Barcelona photo shoot was all about the details, "because to me it's the little details that make the huge difference and I wanted to show them those little details" Spanish photographer Inés explained. The original theme and idea for this shoot came from Inés herself to show couples that capturing the personal details and portraits beautifully is what's super important in wedding photography - even if that means dressing up again for a post-wedding shoot - the perfect excuse if you ask me!

Rain on your wedding day is a big worry for a lot of couples, but today I'm here to prove to you that it can actually be pretty amazing! Yes, Helen and James' outdoor festival wedding was a wash-out, but they definitely didn't let it ruin their day. Check out the amazing photographs their photographer Neil Thomas Douglas was able to capture... of course shots like this requires a couple who aren't afraid to get a little wet and muddy, but these guys went all out! They even went out in a boat on the river during the downpour!

I was rather over-excited when I laid eyes on Helen and Andy's Lake District wedding, shot by the amazing Neil Douglas Photography. I mean what could be more incredible than getting wedding day portraits like these in a setting like that!? Hats off to the photographer of course, but also to the awesome couple for not being afraid to potentially get a little wet or muddy. I'd love to see more brave couples like this please, who's with me?
The wedding was held in Buttermere, with the ceremony in a local church and the reception in a tipi in Buttermere field. The couple didn't have a huge budget and opted to DIY and thrift a lot. Helen wore a dress which she bought off eBay for £100 and customised with her grandmother's vintage fur (a last minute edition due to the weather).

Max and Sarah were married at Rocher Harbor Resort, Washington. The wedding was timelessly elegant with rustic touches but with a dash of punk rock awesomeness thrown in! "Our wedding was a true labor of love," began the bride. "From the handmade terrariums topping our tables, ceremony arbor, and DIY'd program goodie bags - every step of our wedding was a group effort. One of the first winners was Ruth Power, a musician from New Zealand. Tenille & Christian were married at Maritime Museum in Fremantle, West Australia. The venue totally set the tone for their vintage nautical themed wedding. "I found working with our theme to be quite easy", explained Tenille. "The colour scheme worked and it was easy to pinpoint and find things to match our theme. If you have Photoshop and some time to be creative then you can save loads of money doing things like menus and table names yourself. I also highly recommend a cocktail party wedding as guests get to mingle and no one is stuck at a table. It really livens up the atmosphere to have guests being able to stand, dance and have fun in general."

Can I be biased and express my total and unapologetic love and adoration for my Aussie readers right now? The weddings you guys have been having and sending me are nothing short of amazing!
So needless to say I was rather thrilled to see Kate & Chris' wedding in my inbox. Sent over by their gorgeous wedding photographers, husband & wife team Feather and Stone, I just about whooped with joy when I laid eyes on it. There's just something about a simple but classy wedding with a true Rock n Roll soul that makes my heart sing... plus Kate's amazing tattoo gives me some serious envy!
