Ever feel like your not ‘out there’ enough with your wedding planning? Feeling bad for being to traditional and like a fraud as a ‘rock n roll bride’ for wearing a white dress or getting married in a church (as we did by the way!)
Well stop beating yourself up and head over to my second home, the very fabulous Savvy Scoop for today’s ‘traditional meets rock n roll’ guest post.

Scarlet & Craig's wedding wowed me as soon as I spied that dress. I was so excited to be able to share this incredible Goth extravaganza and luckily for you lot, so were the newlyweds. In fact Craig's reply when I emailed him back saying 'Yes yes, hell yes (ps your wife is hot)' was something along the lines of 'OMG so excited that you're going to feature us!!! Squeeee'.
"I'd never really thought about my wedding day growing up, so when Craig proposed on a trip to Amsterdam (with a tattoo that simply said 'Marry Me' on his wrists!) I was thrown into a bit of a panic!" Scarlet explained. "But as soon as we started planning we knew we wanted to do things our own way. Luckily we found Rock n Roll Bride, which made us realise there really are no 'rules' for a wedding, and then we just went all out! We didn't start out with one, but as we went along we developed a kind of pink and black gothic fairytale theme, pink being my favourite colour, and black being Craig's!

Krista & Uryah had a 1920s style wedding in Snohomish, WA. As a professional seamstress, Krista planned and DIY'd the majority of wedding herself. I have a whole lot of love for this set - her shoes, her back lace umbrella, the cigarette holders - classy and wonderful!
Thanks to Claire for sending me these. Mwah!

Margaret & Edi’s INCREDIBLE “Blows-Everything-Else-Out-of-the-Water” Gothic Alice in Wonderland Wedding

Yeah...so...um...speechless.
....
Seriously people! get a load of this sheeeeeit. OK OK let me get myself together for a second....
Margaret sent me a sneak peek to her incredible wedding to Edi back in October and I had to wait until this week to see the rest of them. Do you know how hard that has been for me?! I actually teased the above photo on Twitter the other day and someone replied asking if it was a photograph of heaven...that's a pretty accurate assumption I think!
The couple were legally married at Edi's parent's house and the reception took place in the fairytale setting of The Bali Room in the Kempinski Hotel, Jakarta and Margaret told me all about it.
"Our theme was Alice in Wonderland. I picked Alice for my theme, because I've loved it since I was a little kid and because my Mom's name is Alice. The main colour was dark purple because purple represents magical and darkness in the same time. its so glamorous! Our family members wore purple shade outfits."

It feels weird to start a real wedding post with a disclaimer of sorts but this is just one of those weddings that I share with a small sense of trepidation. Without wanting to sound like anybody's mother, let's just remember that this is two people's actual wedding day and their way of expressing their love. I am under no disillusion that parts of the wedding may well divide opinion, but as always, let's keep the comments constructive and remember what Rock n Roll Bride is all about...

Like so many awesome couples these days, Vivien and Nick wanted a wedding to reflect them - and that meant going against what a lot of their friends and family thought! When people expressed disapproving words that the bride would be wearing black, she ignored them! She knew it was the right choice for her, and thank goodness she stuck with it because doesn't she look SPECTACULAR?!

Daley and Logan met at a goth club in Austin seven years ago. They began hosting events together, including the Austin Vampire Ball, which is actually where they got engaged! Their wedding theme was suitably 'vampire royalty' and and they wanted their wedding to be one-of-a-kind, but with some nods to tradition.

Ben and Samantha met at a gig. Ben's English accent caught Sam's attention and they started chatting. Ben is in a band himself, Asking Alexandria, and so music was a big part of their wedding theme. They nicknamed the wedding 'Asking Samantha' and there were musical and British references throughout. Ben wore a jacket with the Union Jack on the back, and the groom's cake was Big Ben!

When logistically it just wasn't possible for Ann & Martin to marry on Halloween as they'd originally planned, they still knew they wanted their wedding to have a spooky gothic theme. The whole day was heavily influenced by Tim Burton.
