It was The Great American Music Hall that played host to Holly & Michael’s wedding. It was the couple’s love of a good party, Rock n Roll and quirky fashion that inspired their day. “The team behind Union Square’s uber chic Shotwell Boutique , Holly Kricher and Michael Weaver are style savants who’ve worked their way into the hearts and minds of San Francisco’s fashionistas in a very short period of time,” explained photographer Christina about the couple, “So, it makes sense that their wedding thoroughly reflected their fashion-forward sensibility.”
“Having the reception at The Great American Music Hall not only complemented the bride and groom’s vintage aesthetic, it created the feeling of being at a glitzy nightclub rather than a formal wedding. Instead of assigned seating, the couple opted for a cabaret-style set up for both the ceremony and reception. When those tables filled up, guests could get a bird’s eye view of the action from the balcony upstairs.”
This fashion forward bride wore a dress by Morgane le Fay and Christian Louboutin shoes. She opted not for a tradition bridal jewellery, instead favouring a custom made gorgeous statement necklace, bracelet and earring set by Erickson Beamon . Both Holly and her Maid of Honour carried bouquets that were illuminated with a blue light. The result was very dramatic as they walked down the slightly dimmed aisle.
The couple thought about all of their details carefully and as well as DIYing a lot, had set designer Courtney Atinsky on hand to help them transform their vision into reality. Instead of flower petals, the “flower girls” threw small cloth butterflies down the aisle which they purchased from Micheal’s . They also wore black leotards with tutus. The favours included vintage-style costume jewellery, such as brooches, rings, and earrings, doubled as table decorations.
Big love, kisses and thanks to photographer Christina and Holly & Michael for sharing their gorgeous wedding with us today

I Love that Glove
September 9, 2012
Honestly? I struggled with what to write about today. Usually on a Sunday I'll post something non-wedding related that's caught my eye or I'll share something exciting that I've done in the week. But I shared my Photography Farm retreat escapades in this week's Thursday Treats and since then I've basically been chained to my computer replying to the squillions of emails that came in whilst I was away and writing as many blog posts as physically possible. I also spent rather a lot of time on the phone to Cosmopolitan Magazine. NO BIG DEAL (more on this soon!)
And then this wedding pinged into my inbox and it all became clear.

Comic Book & Superhero Wedding: Holly & Anthony

November 26, 2012
Happy Monday you lovely little critters - have I got a wedding to start this week off with a bang or what!?
Unusually I was actually submitted this wedding by the groom and via twitter because his gorgeous bride, Holly, was nervous about doing so. Er, girl, are you KIDDING me?! I'm dying over your wedding. The comic book, superhero and geek chic radness is just too good. This is one of those weddings that I genuinely wish I'd been invited to!

I'm definitely not only of those girly girls. I favour a bold and modern aesthetic over pretty pastels any day. But Joey & Mike's wedding slayed me when it landed in my inbox recently. And 'pretty' is really the only word I can use to best describe what I saw.

Pastel Colours for a 1950s Inspired Wedding: Emily & James
Kat
June 14, 2012
As soon as I laid eyes on Emily's incredible silver embellished 1950s inspired wedding dress I was smitten. What an utterly gorgeous bride and a completely beautiful wedding. I couldn't wait to get it on these digital pages of mine! The couple were married at Edes House, Chichester and had their reception at the groom's father's house in Bosham.
"We wanted our wedding day to completely reflect James and I", Emily told me. "This was something we kept in mind during the whole process, as I think it is easy to lose sight of what and who weddings are for, when you are surrounded by so many people in the wedding industry telling you that you absolutely need this and definitely need that.
We both adore the 1950s and the pastel shades, and I really feel like these things were very present in the whole day. We also chose from the beginning which things would be the most important to us - these ended up being the food/drink for James and the flowers for me. We chose a catering company who were very local and produced the most delicious food. We hand picked each of the types of alcohol we chose, with Arundel Ales coming from Sussex and the cider coming from Appledram which is just around the corner from the reception."

A Rockabilly Las Vegas Wedding: John & Marnie

August 13, 2012
Australian John & Marnie spent six weeks travelling around the US for their honeymoon after their wedding in Las Vegas. They were in town for the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Festival and they loved the idea of getting married there. The ceremony was held at Little Church of the West, a quaint little 'mini church' looking chapel, right at the south end of the strip and the after party was at Level 107 Cocktail lounge in the Stratosphere hotel - right at the north end!

Tattoos, tears and a seriously cute couple. Toni & Colin's wedding is what my dreams are made of. These guys are THE perfect Rock n Roll couple and they're wedding slays me. Plus they had Sassy of Assassynation as their wedding photographer so they instantly go way up in the cool stakes with me!
The wedding was held at The Quay, Musselburgh, on 10th November. "Colin and I met online what feels like a life time ago but wasn't all that long ago in the grand scheme of things", Toni began. "We spoke for a month or so online and then he made plans to come over from Northern Ireland to visit me in Edinburgh. 'I'll come for the weekend,' he said. Well, he arrived and he's yet to leave! We've lived together from day one and, including the night before the wedding, we are yet to spend one single night apart. It's a good job he makes me laugh as much as he does!"

Red, Polka Dots & An Ice Cream Van – A Budget-Friendly DIY Wedding: Kelly & Matt
Kat
August 17, 2012
With a budget of just £8500, Kelly & Matt pulled of a wedding that perfectly encapsulated everything about them. From the cute red colour scheme, the DIY details and the relaxed photography, their wedding was one to remember. "We did absolutely everything ourselves for as little money as possible!," began the bride. "We wanted the day to represent us as a couple and to be really personal. We wanted to make it a really relaxed atmosphere and make sure all our guests and we had fun. The theme was slightly retro, with red as the main colour set around black and white polka dots and loads of red love hearts! Everything looked exactly as we had imagined and seeing it all for the first time was one of my favourite parts of the day. All the details looked amazing and we were glad we put so much time and effort into them."
