Oh I do love a pretty & retro photo shoot to brighten up a wedding blog on a Monday morning and this fabulous one, sent over my Bethan of Haywood Jones Photography, fits the bill perfecto!
“The main aim of this shoot was to achieve a real vintage glamour look and feel,” began photographer Bethan. “We wanted a big slice of silver screen elegance with a large portion of delicious cupcakes on the side! My Pretty Little Things specialise in making veils and fascinators which hark through the eras of the 20’s right through to the 50’s and approached me to organise a vintage themed session. When organising the shoot, I contacted Queenies Cupcakes who have a shop in Ironbridge right around the corner to me, to see if we could use them as a location for part of the day. They were absolutely brilliant and we all had a good nibble on the cupcakes while we were there, work is so hard sometimes!”
“I especially love the black and white check floor in their cupcakery and was quickly eyeing up my own kitchen when I got home to see if it wouldn’t look too out of place, so easy to influence! We had to work quickly though as the light was fading fast with it being the beginning of winter and I wanted to use natural light as much as possible. The other half of the shoot took place at my home as we wanted a really simple backdrop of the white painted floor and walls to really focus on showing the veils off.”
“Caroline Piasecki who did the amazing hair and make up is a friend of mine and whizzed up the M1 and M6 one cold, grey Sunday morning to create a stunningly elegant look. Chara Jackson was also our willing volunteer model, who I must say a big thanks to. She didn’t complain at donning a strapless tea length wedding dress in the cold at all. The day shooting was loads of fun, punctuated by LOTS of cuppas and cake, a good natter and weirdly some lovely passers by shouting congratulations to us through the window of the shop! Not sure they knew exactly what was going on but we all waved back never the less.”
Huge love to photographer Bethan & all the team involved for sharing this shoot with us today
