These images were sent in by Rock n Roll Bride sponsor, Peppermint Pretty , to show off some of her latest designs. I love the quirky nature of these dresses, like nothing you would have seen before.
The first 18 images in the gallery below are Katlyn’s bridal shoot, she is wearing her wedding and reception dress. Aren’t they both fab? I totally love that bow design. The photographs were taken by Kristin Allen of Bold & Kreative Photography , friend of dress designer Erin.
The rest of the images show my favourites from the Peppermint Pretty collection. Each retro inspired dress is custom made to suit the individual bride. J’adore!
Kristen & Erin would like to offer any bride who buys their dress from Peppermint Pretty , and books Bold & Kreative Photography to do their wedding photography, a free bridal shoot in their Peppermint Pretty dress! How cool is that? Simply mention this offer to the girls when you contact them.
Be sure to check out the full Peppermint Pretty collection right here
Big love and thanks to Erin for sharing her designs with us today

A DIY Fashion Shoot Using The Rock n Roll Bride Planning Notebook!

A photo shoot featuring the Rock n Roll Bride planning notebooks!? Oh yes that's one sure-fired way to get my attention!
"We styled the whole shoot ourselves using items from eBay (and of course the Rock n Roll Bride notebook," photographer Jaye of Tux & Tales Photography told me. "We decided we would do a few styled shoots ourselves on a shoestring budget. I think it is a great way to show brides that they can have a fun and fab style with a little pocket change and a lot of elbow grease. I hope you enjoy my ultra-rad millinery. Picture me sitting on the living room floor, feathers flying everywhere whilst my cat tries to run off with the hat in his mouth every time I turn around to get another feather. The bouquet I made myself out of crepe paper. Boo (our model) is a burlesque performer so she did her own hair & make up!"

Regula & Bruno’s Abandoned Fairground Wedding Portraits (Part Three)
Kat
August 10, 2011
So part one was spooky, part two was cute and part three is just...well...a whole other level! Could an abandoned fairground in Belgium possibly be the coolest photo shoot location ever?
"The day after our tea party reception we went on a adventure to an abandoned fairground that I used to visit as a child when it was still open," Regula told me. "I suddenly thought about it a few months ago and wondered what had become of it. I have some vivid childhood memories of it. Bruno and I wanted to go there as we love the creepy and romantic forgotten world feeling about it. We have a thing for the strangeness of old fairgrounds and fairs, hence the rock candy and candy apples at our reception. When I told our photographer Sassy of it she was so excited we decided to make a trip together."

A Simple Bridal Shoot on the Barcelona Hills
Kat
August 15, 2012
April in Barcelona. Teresa and film photographer Miguel Varona headed away from the city and up the hills to Montseny natural park to shoot a set of simple bridal portraits. "It wasn't the perfect day", wrote Miquel. "The sun didn't shine, but the atmosphere we had was perfect to recreate the special moments for a bride on her wedding day."
"Teresa wore a leather jacket a boots with her simple dress. 'Why not mix tradition and simplicity?' I thought. 'Why not show that tradition is compatible with personality?'"

Chi Chi Revolver’s Tattooed Bridal Shoot

March 31, 2011
"I was really inspired reading the winning entry to your Knot Couture dress competition recently," photographer Bethan of Haywood Jones Photography told me. "It was hard to picture how it would feel to be made so uncomfortable in a shop who were clearly disapproving of you, thinking we live in a properly modern society (!) until it happened to me last weekend (not because I have beautiful body art sadly, but much more because I was dressed a bit scruffily and went into a very posh art shop. They actually got another member of security to stand in the shop while me and my friend walked around!!) It suddenly became clear that you really can't judge a book by its cover and that even though the *mainstream* wedding industry is becoming more accepting of the *alternative* side of peoples wedding creativity and gorgeousness, there are still many blinkered people out there who wont look past stereotypes and make you feel less than worthy of their attention."

Raven’s Carnival Bridal Shoot
Kat
June 1, 2011
Raven wanted some carnival themed bridal portraits and so she asked William of Famous William Company to shoot them for her. "She had a blast and was all smiles even though the weather was blazing hot that day," William told me. "The carnival was located outside of Atlanta, Georgia. She wore a 1950's vintage wedding dress and for her something blue for the photos she had blue converse trainers."

Anthropologie & Rustic Farm Elegance with a Rock n Roll Twist
Kat
February 15, 2010
Oh squeeeeal! I'm not sure I can say anything more intellectual about Luke & Charis' wedding, in fact I think only 'squeeeal' will cover it. So. Much. Awesome!
"This couple was married in a barn at Sharon Rose Farm in Greenville SC" photographer Anna told me "The bride is a hair stylist, the groom is a drummer - so the music and the style was fabulous and original. I thought what was so rock n roll about this wedding was that the bride made surprise stick-on tattoos to replicate her new husband's favorite tattoo on his arm, and all the guests had a mini tattoos during the reception just like the groom!"
Charis wore a dress from David's Bridal and she asked her bridesmaids to simply pick their own black dress.
When Charis and her bridesmaids walked into the venue someone said, "It looks like an anthropologie catalogue just walked in!" The ceremony and reception were held in a beautiful red renovated horse barn. It was such a nice mix of rustic farm, elegant chandeliers and vintage flare. There were mason jars with wild flowers, and baskets of peanuts on cocktail tables as guests mingled and sipped lemonade before the entering the barn. An old typewriter was used as a to write notes to the bride and groom, and a sweet bird cage to put them in.
Just sit back and enjoy these - I know you will!
Thanks to Anna for sharing this amazing wedding with us
