When Mat & Kenzie’s engagement session hit my inbox I was floored. Not only are the pair enviably stylish and gorgeous but they ended their shoot underwater ! Every photo just gets better and better.

"These guys are friends who frequent the same gigs, art spaces, and thrift shops that we go to. Their philosophy has always been to keep doing and creating, not for money, but just because they love what they do. And knowing that we were on a budget-DIY-wedding, they agreed to do a pro bono engagement shoot for us in a heartbeat. This sweet and cute engagement session is something a bit different to what I often post. However I thought Krystle & Derek's Teen Vogue inspired shoot was the perfect way to show that you don't have to be all about tattoos, props and vintage picnics to be considered Rock n Roll! The couple, from Manila in the Philippines, styled their shoot themselves to have a 'mix n match' simple fashion-shoot theme. " We simply wanted our photos to look fun, flirty, fresh and alive with simple props" they told me.

Chihye & Tom's LA engagement speaks volumes of their love. From the simple moments between these two to the beautiful field full of ruby red heart balloons - what's not to love about these?
It would appear that photographer Chrissy agrees with me "I don’t know if I have the words to accompany these photos. They truly speak for themselves. A couple so deeply and genuinely in love mixed with God’s beauty creates the most gorgeous moments. Chihye and Tom are another one of my kindful couples, our first meeting lasted hours over Sangria and Cuban food. The longer I do my job the more I believe in soulmates and magic." I saw a feathery sneak peak of Mary & Stephan's engagement session on their wedding coordinator's website and immediately shot and email to Erin & Court asking if I could blog them when they were all ready. Lucky for me they were of course delighted and I got the email this morning to tell me they were up.
I knew they were going to be good because of the hilarious and fun 'pillow fight' scene, yet I wasn't expecting the rest - the balloons, the guitar playing, the balloons, the fun fair..eeek. These are just perfect!

Funfairs may have been 'done' in terms of what the cool kids say is 'in' but who gives a monkey's about what they think? It's the same with balloons, candy floss and even sun flair...pah I say to that! The funfair is the perfect backdrop for an engagement shoot - fun, colourful, playful and prop city! I want a photo shoot in at a fun fair in fact. Any offers?!
