I was sad because I could only find these two images from this gorgeous looking wedding last week..but now I am happy because the photographer recognised my plight and sent me more from this amazing wedding!
I asked Nigel to tell me a little about himself and the couple, and he did it so well that I’m not going to try and re-write his words..so here they are in all their glory
I am a wedding photojournalist who captures the real moments of a couple’s special day. My style is completely candid and un-posed, and I have an eye for the unusual. Couples looking for something different come to me, because they know I shoot alternative unions (be they in the form of weddings, civil partnerships or parties) and they know I will listen to their needs & take care of them.
I worked as a fashion stylist for several years before moving behind the lens, so I love it when couples with a strong sense of style approach me with their own unique take on a wedding. It’s something I can really get my teeth into. The people that tend to use me like to break the mould, even if it’s only a little.
The bride [in this wedding] had a strong sense of style, whilst her groom was much more conservative. She had this fabulous dress as you can see, and she just lit up everyone around her, wherever she went. The couple decided to hold their wedding over two days; the first day being just the service and a meal for family and close friends, and the second day they threw a huge party at The Groucho Club for everyone they knew. Their choices of clothing and the venues really put an alternative touch on the whole affair. A wedding that will be remembered.
I hope you like these photographs as much as I do. Big up the UK photographers!

"Regula & Bruno rock my world"...that's how photographer Assassynation introduced me to this bad ass couple when she sent me their wedding. The pair are from Belgium but wanted to be married in England. Their ceremony day was followed by a tea party reception and spooky photo shoot in an abandoned fairground (!) in their home country a few weeks later. Luckily for us all, this second part took place just last weekend and believe me, I'm going to be featuring it just as soon as the photos are ready!
But for now, it's all about the ceremony...

Toast of Leeds
May 15, 2013
There was no doubt in my mind that I had to share this wedding with you. My heart skipped a beat as I clapped eyes on the beautiful Sarah and her stunning movie starlet-esque red wedding dress from The Couture Company and I flicked through Toast of Leeds' photographs holding my breath. What an utterly beeeeeeeautiful wedding.
"Our venue was Buckland Hall in the Brecon Beacons National Park, a country house in the Welsh mountains, that we could personalise and make our own for a long weekend", Sarah began. "We had free reign of the house and grounds, which we decorated with family photos and personal belongings that we've collected during our time together. Sixty of our guests stayed on the night of our wedding and close family the night before. The ceremony was held in a room with views of rolling park land, the River Usk and snow capped mountains beyond."

A Rainbow Wedding inspired by their Living Room: Ruth & Alex

I think green is a totally underrated bridal colour. We see brides in white, red, even black, quite often, but rarely in green - and doesn't Ruth show us how wrong this is? She looks incredible! "I remember looking at photos of my Gran in her wedding dress from 1960 which was blue with a pink petticoat and telling myself that I was going to wear my favourite colour when I got married too", Ruth began, "and so the green dress was born. My something old was my Gran's actual pink underskirt from her wedding dress."
"Finding a green dress was hard work though. At first I tried on bridesmaid dresses but I never really felt myself or special enough. I was also being pushed into trying on white dresses by everyone but I didn't recognise myself. I'm a total tomboy at heart and the concept of being feminine for the day felt alien to me. I still don’t understand the concept of feeling like a princess on your wedding day. The most important thing was to feel like me. I found Vivien of Holloway online after looking at the adverts on Rock n Roll Bride. After three trips trying on various Vivien of Holloway dresses, I ended up ordering from a limited run of only 4 (!) plain green circle dresses. I love the fact that I can and will be able to wear my dress again and that I'm only one of 4 people to have bought it!"

A Fancy Dress Halloween Wedding: Oddd & Elle

October 2, 2012
So we're in to October already so you know what that means... Halloween! And for Oddd & Elle, despite being married in August, their favourite holiday was the obvious choice of theme for their epic wedding.
"Anyone who knows us knew that our wedding was going to be a little different, as we've always done things our own way", began the groom. "After a chance meeting when we were both invited last minute to a day out, we have been inseparable, We got engaged on our first Christmas day in our first home and we set our wedding date for our 9 year anniversary on Friday 17th August 2012."

Tattoo Britannia Wedding: Lisa & Paul

"Being the Jubilee year as well as the Olympics, a red, white & blue themed wedding seemed fitting", began newlywed Lisa who married Paul this Summer. "I sat with my bridesmaids and mum the night before the wedding watching the opening ceremony with great pride. The bright colour options coupled with my love of rockabilly styling and 1940s glamour added such vibrancy and fun to the day. Paul and I also both love tattoos so we wanted to bring this into our day. The swallows on the wedding cake, invitations, table decorations and gifts were all tied together with tattoo images."

Traditional Meets Modern Rock n Roll Wedding

Bridgwood Wedding
October 19, 2015
There were parts of Becky and Stewart's wedding that were traditional - the grand manor house, the toastmaster, the order of the day, and others that couldn't have been more Rock n Roll. The bride wore an incredible blush pink wedding dress and veil, their portraits featured smokebombs, and there were nods to their mutual love of music throughout. This wedding goes to prove that you can intertwine the wedding traditions that you like with the alternative elements that you crave and it will still totally work!

Kacii and Jay Jay married at Mansfield Traquair, Edinburgh. Known locally as 'Edinburgh’s answer to the Sistine Chapel', the exquisite, neo-Romanesque former church was an opulent setting for their March celebration. The couple made it their own, wanting a more casual, fun affair than is usually held there, so they eschewed the traditional expectations and did things the way they wanted!
