Last Tuesday, the city of Bristol paid host to a huge gaggle of budding photographers, models and industry professionals. The photography blog, The Photography Parlour , spearheaded by Rosie Parsons , organised a ‘shoot-out’ affectionately nicknamed G2G (Get Together) where everybody who’s anybody headed down for a day of shooting in the sun. I was GUTTED that I couldn’t make it (I was asked if I could come along and model but unfortunately my tattoo was still scabby and not to nice at this point!) but after seeing the results coming through I can not wait to attend the next one!
I wanted to share some of my favourite images from the shoot. Full credit and a list of everybody involved can be found after the ‘jump’.
Over 30 photographers attended so I couldn’t possibly share photographs from everyone. However I strongly advise you go and check out every body’s images over at The Photography Parlour’s flickr group …and if you’re still on the look out for a wedding photographer well boy are you in luck!
Thanks to Rosie, Chanelle, Emma, Joanna, Debs, Jessica, Louisa, Owen & Charis for allowing me to share some of their images today

The Designer Wedding Show February 2010 ♥ Highlights
Kat
February 16, 2010
few weeks ago I was offered a couple of tickets to attend The Designer Wedding show in Battersea, London. The event took place from last Friday - Sunday so my friend (and photographer extraordinaire) David McNeil and I thought we'd go check it out in the hope to be inspired, have fun and to actually real-life-meet some of the amazing UK wedding vendors that we've met online. Today I want to share a few of my highlights and photographs from the event so you can see what fun we had. I definitely did and I even got to meet a bunch of Rock n Roll Bride readers. It was the first event I've been to where I actually got recognised which was surreal but certainly nice! Here are some of my (and David's) faves.
♥ Magpie Vintage undoubtedly had one of the busiest stalls of the day. I've wanted to meet Lisa & Tania for ages now and The Designer Wedding show proved to be the perfect opportunity. I wondered up to their stand hoping they'd spot the pink hair and know it was me and as soon as I was within 20 feet I was greeted by Lisa with a massive hug and an "oh my god you look so young!" (haha way to suck up Lisa - you go girl!) and " oh you simply must wear this necklace!" She the proceeded to drape a beautiful powder pink and teal green reclaimed vintage gem around my neck which I was lucky enough to walk around with all day (and yes I did remember to return it after!)
♥ Abbey of Sugalily Stationary and I have been chatting online for months now so it was great to finally meet her in real life. I fell in love with not only her but with her beautiful creations in paper, ribbon and sparkly bits. From retro to classic, colourful to muted, Abbey's display was one of the most indearing there..and she had cupcakes! Now who could say no to that!?
♥ Myself and David had waaaay too much fun at the Booth Nation/Glitterbooth. As we walked past I was instantly drawn to the 8 foot, silver glitter-covered photo booth. We were greeted by Seamus who immediately told us to hop in and give it a go, and inside only a bloomin' built in wind machine (you can see we had fun with that!) I swear to god, if I was getting married again I would totally have one of these. Awesome!

The Designer Vintage Bridal Show Feburary 2011 ♥ My Report + Exclusive Photos
Kat
February 23, 2011
In November I received an email from Bran Cook (PR extraordinaire) to ask if I’d be interested in being one of the attractions at a brand new wedding fair she was helping Rachel of Rachel Simpson Shoes and Clare Guest of The Wedding Club (a fabulous bridal boutique in Birmingham) to organise. At first I was a little confused. What would they want me there for? Who would want to come see me at a wedding fair? What would I even put on a wedding fair stand?! However I bit the bullet and said I’d be there with bells on…big pink ones.
Over the next few months I received regular updates (both via email and on The Designer Vintage Bridal Fair blog) about all the amazing suppliers that were getting involved with the show and my initial uncertainty and nerves turned to utter excitement! I had basically signed up to hang out at the beautiful Highbury Hall in Birmingham with a load my favourite wedding suppliers for a WHOLE WEEKEND...woohoo road trip! I even booked into a hotel with my girls Lucy of Lucy Ledger Designs and Debbie of DC Bouquets which further transformed the weekend from a ‘business trip’ into a fabulously giggly and gossipy girls weekend (and yes we did lie in bed until 3am chatting and laughing uncontrollably!) And I call this ‘work’ right?!

The Vintage & Alternative Wedding Fair

Vintage has become a bit of a dirty word in the wedding world. It's been overdone more than any trend' I've ever known... and in many cases pretty badly. But vintage weddings as a concept are beautiful and some of the most creative and beautiful weddings that I've featured have fallen under that 'vintage' banner. In fact vintage weddings are not limited to pearls, lace and mismatched crockery - they can be so much more than that, the only limit is your imagination.can be so much more than that, the only limit is your imagination.

Having a Festival Wedding? Check out FabulousWedFest!

My Fabulous Life
February 9, 2013
Are you having a festival themed wedding? 2012 was certainly the year that this idea exploded into weddings, but it would appear it isn't going anywhere during 2013 either!
This festival-inspired wedding shoot was pulled together by wedding photographer Becky Joiner and Muddifords Court in order to promote their latest venture, the FabulousWedFest wedding show which is taking place on 16th March. Shot in and around the venue itself, and using suppliers that will actually be exhibiting at the fair, this shoot shows that festival weddings are far from over. It's clearly a theme that we're going to see gaining popularity in 2013 and beyond. Wellies at the ready guys!

The Julia Boggio Studios Grand Opening
Kat
May 7, 2010
Last Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to the fancy pants grand opening of the Julia Boggio Studios in Wimbledon, London. Not only was it the very studio that Julia and I did my vintage boudoir shoot but I was able to meet a load of new people from the UK wedding industry as well as catch up with some old friends.
I headed up to London with the lovely Lisa of Magpie Vintage. Before the party we paid a visit to our friends at Luella's Boudoir in Wimbledon who kitted us out with sparkles and shoes (Lisa nabbed some gorgeous Emmy shoes and I borrowed a beeeautiful Magpie Vintage headband - and yes I wanted to keep it!) We then all piled back in Lisa's car and made our way to Merton Abbey Mills where Julia's studio is located.
