Minnie wanted some funky and fun pin up style images for her model portfolio, so she and photographer Christopher headed down to the beach where there was a fun fair – the perfect setting. She got all dressed up in authentic vintage outfits and they had an utterĀ blast!
Thanks to Christopher for sharing these today

Retro Pin Up Valentines Lovelies
Kat
February 6, 2010
With the day of hearts, flowers and lurrrve fast approaching, I have been inundated with Valentine's themed submissions, however this retro/pin up shoot from Jen Will may well be one of my utter favourites.
The shoot took place in her own kitchen which was the perfect setting for the baking theme. "This is part of the reason I love my apartment." Jen tells us "It is the coolest apartment ever, and my love for it is part of the reason I have yet to join the adult world of home ownership. It has a bathroom that would probably rent out as a large bedroom in New York City and a classic stove that came straight from the original Be Witched TV show. No matter where I live in the future, I will always love this place. I am so glad I got to document it in such a special way!"
I have to agree... and seeing these really makes me want to get my arse in gear and decorate our house! Thanks to Jen for sharing these.

Yes you read that right, I really am publishing a wedding shoot with dogs as the stars today. Why not hey!? Not only are there real life dog models but their human counterparts are rocking all manner of puppy themed clobber and the table is covered in doggie plates, kitsch ornaments and the stationery is all puppy themed. I approve!

A Trailer Trash Bridal Shoot with a Vintage Airstream
Kat
August 25, 2012
"Ever since I spent time travelling from Nashville to San Francisco last Autumn, I've benn obsessed with wanting to recreate vintage Americana!" wrote stylist Lynsey Le Keux. "This summer I had the pleasure of making it happen. I got together with some serious wedding industry talent including Sassy of Assassynation and Jo of The Couture Company. Our theme was 'trailer trash chic' which basically meant coney neck beers, dust-caked American cars, sweat smudged make up and broad blue skies. The aim was to portray unique bridal beauty against a backdrop of pure gritty trash... We wanted to inspire bridal styling outside of tradition and show our customers that they don't have to follow convention to rock a wedding - bridal beauty is subjective and one thing all the collaborators agreed on was how much we loved customers who did things their way."

Vintage weddings are still all the rage right now, but sometimes it's nice to see this trend in a different style. Which is why this shoot sent over by some Dallas based wedding suppliers and Nine Photography got me very excited indeed. They wanted to share the more retro, kitschy and quirky side of the vintage trend... and I love it!

Happy day of LOVE! What could be a better way to start off this most romantic of celebrations than a Valentine's inspired bridal shoot... with a twist (of course!)?
There are so many touches that I love in this set of photos - the hay bales with the hearts on, the colourful DIY fans or the heart garlands would make for incredible ceremony backdrops. There are some seriously sweet buffet table ideas and the gold and yellow tablescape is a really lovely and original take on the theme.

Julius & James
April 21, 2013
Following on from yesterday's trip down memory lane, today I wanted to share the Polaroid fantasy of wedding photographers Julius & James. When Stephen (James), who has a passion for old film cameras, gave Julius a modified Polaroid 250 land camera for his birthday they immediately started to think about how they could use it in their wedding and fashion photography. So they started to experiment with 4X5 film in their Toronto studio.
