I love this shoot because not only does it look like it was a mountain of fun, but the girls that put it together are the best of friends – make it even more adorable methinks! Photographers Michelle & Hanssie had the idea for this ‘retro cars and vintage dresses’ shoot and enlisted the help of a bunch of their industry friends to help them. The venue, a car museum called Astor Classics Events Center, had been thinking about opening it’s doors for weddings and receptions so the shoot provided the perfect opportunity for some publicity…didn’t the shots turn out great? I know I’d love to get married there – what a load of awesome locations for photo ops!
Thanks to Michelle & Hanssie for sharing this shoot and to all the vendors involved for making it so damn cool (full vendor list is below)

This shoot was set up for Bow Wood Florist, based in Forney, a small town just outside of Dallas. They wanted some edgier images to really show modern brides what they can do. They created the bouquet but allowed photographer Britney of Tucker Images to let her imagination run wild with the styling and location of the shoot.

Happy day of LOVE! What could be a better way to start off this most romantic of celebrations than a Valentine's inspired bridal shoot... with a twist (of course!)?
There are so many touches that I love in this set of photos - the hay bales with the hearts on, the colourful DIY fans or the heart garlands would make for incredible ceremony backdrops. There are some seriously sweet buffet table ideas and the gold and yellow tablescape is a really lovely and original take on the theme.

Twisty Tree Roots on the Banks of a River
Kat
November 27, 2012
"This project, the visual telling of love and passion, was inspired by late nights, acoustic guitars, and solo vocalists", writes wedding photographer Kelsea of Simplee Photography. "It is a collection inspired by all the things that I love, things that are beautifully interesting... details stripped down into elements."
On the banks of a river, where twisty tree roots meets an Autumnal glow, Kelsea found her perfect location. Wanting to shoot something simple, natural and organic, she selected a vintage dress, feather earrings, masks from Russia and bits and pieces from here, there and everywhere.

Retro Pin Up Valentines Lovelies
Kat
February 6, 2010
With the day of hearts, flowers and lurrrve fast approaching, I have been inundated with Valentine's themed submissions, however this retro/pin up shoot from Jen Will may well be one of my utter favourites.
The shoot took place in her own kitchen which was the perfect setting for the baking theme. "This is part of the reason I love my apartment." Jen tells us "It is the coolest apartment ever, and my love for it is part of the reason I have yet to join the adult world of home ownership. It has a bathroom that would probably rent out as a large bedroom in New York City and a classic stove that came straight from the original Be Witched TV show. No matter where I live in the future, I will always love this place. I am so glad I got to document it in such a special way!"
I have to agree... and seeing these really makes me want to get my arse in gear and decorate our house! Thanks to Jen for sharing these.

“Marilyn! Marilyn!”

Rebecca's retro taxi session is so marilyn! In fact while they were shooting people were driving past honking their horns and shouting "Marilyn! Marilyn!"
She wore a dress from a five & dime store (I don't know what this is...we don't have these in Londontown) and she made her own gorgeous hairpiece.
