Baby, It’s You: A Great Sand Dunes Elopement and Baby Bump Shoot

Brenna and Noah built their elopement around two things: a baby blue colour palette and Brenna’s baby bump (they were almost positive they were having a boy, and they were later proved right!). They decided to elope at the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado for that wide open blue sky, and the nostalgia of previous time spent together in the nearby town of Alamosa.

“My inspiration was marking the moment in time”, Brenna told us. “These were our final moments, just the two of us. The beginning of our family story, and creating our story. We wanted it to feel like a moment for us and no one else. An intimate time we could look back on with no regrets of stressing over other people. Also, with us both being introverts, we wanted to share the moment without any stage fright.”

Brenna commissioned Madison Chamberlain for her custom wedding dress and veil, a sheer, organza babydoll festooned with ribbons and lace that framed her growing belly. Noah was dressed in a thrifted, 80s inspired outfit with a baby blue ribbon as a belt that matched the ribbons on her sleeves.

They said their vows directly from their hearts, no vow books, so they could maintain eye contact the entire ceremony. After their ceremony on the dunes, they headed with their photographer to Alamosa for some photos by the river, before ending at Brenna’s number one pregnancy craving paradise: Sonic! “We DIYed our cans for the back of our car. Our favourite beverage is Liquid Death, so naturally, we went with our cans from home!”

“Our favourite part was basking in this moment in time after our vows”, Brenna concluded. “It’s indescribable sitting back and realising, this is it! We’re a married couple now! Time to start our life together…”
