From forts to castles, pagan spiritual sites to Victorian houses… there are so many magical and unique places to tie the knot in Jersey, which is just a one-hour flight from London!
If you read Rock n Roll Bride, it’s highly likely that you love the idea of a quirky, one-of-a-kind wedding day, but maybe you don’t know where to start? Luckily for you, Rock n Roll
Bride is here to be of assistance, every step of the way!
After setting your date, the first thing you need to figure out is where you’d like the wedding to take place. While there are beautiful and unique venues everywhere, with so much choice is can be quite overwhelming, especially if you’re at the early stages and are still not quite sure what you want.
Allow us to introduce you to the idea of Jersey, in the Channel Islands, located slap bang in the middle of England and France. Not only is Jersey only an hour’s flight from London, you are not required to jump through any extra legal hoops or get any Visas to travel to or marry there. You give notice just as you would elsewhere in the UK and make sure you are there for 72 hours before tying the knot. Plus, with it being located closer to France than the UK, they have better weather and higher average temperatures than the rest of the UK—win win!
Jersey Heritage are a charity based in Jersey which offer a huge variety of wedding locations to get married at (and some even allow you to stay the night too). For example, if you chose to get married at Kempt Tower (a beautiful wedding location right on the beach) then you can also sleep up to 12 people within the tower on a self-catering basis.
There are more than 20 sites to choose from with each offering a different vibe, style and energy. So, whether you want a bohemian outdoorsy wedding on the beach or a dramatic, gothic inspired wedding at Mont Orgueil Castle (one of the best preserved castles in Britain), they have a location which will work for you.
All wedding bookings come with a complimentary wedding co-ordinator who will help you to plan your dream wedding (helping you with suggestions for local suppliers if you need them too) and will be there on the day to ensure it runs smoothly.
Plus, any income generated from the weddings booked at those sites go directly toward funding their projects, and protecting the island’s history. Now what could be better than that!?
Weddings at Jersey Heritage sites vary in price, but there is an option to suit every budget.
