Oh how I love the crazy, mad world that MangoRED create with their photography. Who else could come up with something so magical, hilarious, joyful and original!? Check out the styling by Geof Gonzales…I have a total compulsion to dress up like a soya drink carton or wear an outfit to match my wallpaper right now…
“What we do is dream” Geof explains “Seldom do we come across people with same predilections as ours and deem it priceless and we are very, very grateful for it. Thus inspiring us to push our imaginations to higher heights. Initial inspiration really come from our couple. Then we stir it with our own interpretations by whims of our minds and guilty pleasures. Inspiration roots from appreciation, so everything is inspiration, everything.
Nature mixed with humanity mixed with spontaneity mixed with integrity mixed with humility mixed with schizos and complex personalities comes a melting pot of creative excess and indulgent, succulent rendering.
We stretch reality. We love wallpapers to the extent that we want to envelope everything with it. Gravity is a banal thing yet tinkered on resulting to a surreal moment of suspension. An odd mix of mascots is our way to humor what we do. So, everything is a result of playing.”

‘Til Death Do Us Party Wedding Shoot: Angelo & Rin

"Angelo and I were super lucky to have design/photography duo Everywhere We Shoot on board to do our prenup photography," bride-to-be Rin writes. "These guys are friends who frequent the same gigs, art spaces, and thrift shops that we go to. Their philosophy has always been to keep doing and creating, not for money, but just because they love what they do. And knowing that we were on a budget-DIY-wedding, they agreed to do a pro bono engagement shoot for us in a heartbeat. I was also blessed to have a former schoolmate slash band groupie of mine, Kitty Caragay, do my make-up."

Honestly? I'm not going to pretend that I really understand this shoot... but for some reason I just really love it. It must be the weird juxtaposition between designer handbags, shoes on a roof, giant bunnies and bondage... and hell, I'm not adverse to a bit of randomness!

It may be a massive generalisation, but in my experience no-one does engagement shoots like those creative folks in The Philippines. It's very rare that I featured these kinds of shoots any more, but when I'm presented with something like this, there is no way I'm going to turn it down!

A Boxing Engagement: Jmie & KC

I have another amazing engagement shoot from Rex of WeDoItForLove for you this morning. I've said it before and I'll say it again - no-one does engagement shoots like those Filipino wedding photographers!
Jmie & KC love contact sports, particularly boxing, so theming their shoot around this was a really fun way for them to celebrate their engagement. "People usually choose themes where they will look really beautiful", Rex told me. "So it was really awesome that they chose a theme that's was a bit gritty and less beautiful. It also didn't need so much styling as they already owned all the kit. The shoot was devised around the 'actions' which made it really fun to do."

Ash and Nick are both actors who have also had experience in designing, directing and film editing. They knew they wanted to do something funny and creative for their engagement shoot, rather than the standard cheesy hug-each-other-and-smile-in-a-dreamy-field kind of pictures. Massive horror and Halloween fans too, the idea of recreating some of their favourite TV and movie scenes fell into place after that!

I have a little two part-er for you right now. Omar & Junela gothic engagement and Rock n Roll wedding were both so awesome I had to share them together - first up the ridiculously inspiring engagements. The editing is big, brash and in your face, but I think it really works with the gothic theme of this session. I am in actual LOVE!
