Although they knew each other for a couple of years prior, Sami and Myles’ relationship progressed quickly when they finally became an item. They got engaged after four months, Sami was pregnant at eight, and they were married in under a year. The bulk of the actual planning was done within just five weeks too! The theme for their wedding was simple, relaxed and outdoorsy – choosing a friend’s back garden as their reception location.

They also wanted to keep things firmly within their $12,000 budget. Sami bought her dress online from Lulus and did her own make up. Myles did the catering himself with help from his dad and all the decorations were done by friends and family members.

“I was 18 weeks pregnant on our wedding day”, Sami explained. “Our friends and family dropped everything and came together to make our dream wedding a reality. The ceremony itself was simple, quick and quirky! Myles and his best man, Shane, set a light tone by clowning around and keeping everyone in a constant state of laughter. The main thing for us was to keep the day stress-free, fun and memorable. We were not looking for a traditional wedding. We even got ready together before exchanging vows.”

“We cut costs by cooking our own buffet style dinner for our guests”, she continued, “and the most expensive part was the photographer, and they were worth every penny! The only ‘bad’ part of the wedding was because we planned it so quickly, not all of Myles’ friends and family could fly over from England and attend. That being said, our wedding day was absolutely perfect and we wouldn’t do anything differently.”
