You probably already know this, but here at Rock n Roll Bride we are pretty much obsessed with pink, so when Amy and Adam’s wedding landed in our submissions inbox we were thrilled! The couple were married at the bride’s mum’s house in September and the entire wedding was DIY. Pink was the very obvious theme, but the bride loves Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, so that was a big reference point for them too,
“We love pink, flowers and general cuteness, so centred the wedding around this”, Amy said. “We also had a few nods to Japan, cats and ethereal fairies. As I am a huge fan of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, we had fans as favours which were a hot commodity!”
“Our wedding day was an absolute dream, because it was about us: we did everything that felt right and binned off the things we didn’t want. We knew we wanted it to be at my family home, to feel relaxed and just be a fun time for everyone. We’re very lucky to be friends with so many talented people who were able to be our suppliers, so everything felt very personal.” Amy’s mum even replicated the bride and groom’s outfits and dressed some Sylvanian Family toys to use as the cake toppers!
Doing a DIY wedding at home meant they had to think of everything – from hiring the marquee to portaloos! It was a lot of work, but they ended up having the day exactly as they wanted it. “The best thing about planning the wedding was sourcing the small things like pastel glassware from charity shops and gifts for my bridesmaids”, Amy concluded. “Of course, the very best thing was spending lots of time with my mum, who was my right-hand (wo)man when it came to planning. She’s phenomenal!”

Are you ready for some unapologetic girlishness mixed with cute button and origami details alongside a kick ass heavily tattooed couple, pink dreadlocks, animal onesies and an awesome backyard setting? Well then you my dear are in luck because that's exactly what I have for you today!
Soya and Skip met in a rock club in Lincoln and after just a year of dating she proposed on 29th February! "From the beginning we knew we didn't want a traditional wedding", the bride began. "They are lovely and all, but they can really lack personality. We used things that we love to decorate. My favourite part of the whole day was the ceremony. It was emotional but with lots of light-hearted laughs. Our readings and vows summed us both up perfectly. We even had mention of our ever growing number of pet rats, Batman and Robin and a zombie apocalypse in our vows which were followed by a hand fasting."

A Black Wedding Dress, A Traditional Church Wedding & A Burlesque Themed Reception: Scarlet & Craig

November 21, 2011
Scarlet & Craig's wedding wowed me as soon as I spied that dress. I was so excited to be able to share this incredible Goth extravaganza and luckily for you lot, so were the newlyweds. In fact Craig's reply when I emailed him back saying 'Yes yes, hell yes (ps your wife is hot)' was something along the lines of 'OMG so excited that you're going to feature us!!! Squeeee'.
"I'd never really thought about my wedding day growing up, so when Craig proposed on a trip to Amsterdam (with a tattoo that simply said 'Marry Me' on his wrists!) I was thrown into a bit of a panic!" Scarlet explained. "But as soon as we started planning we knew we wanted to do things our own way. Luckily we found Rock n Roll Bride, which made us realise there really are no 'rules' for a wedding, and then we just went all out! We didn't start out with one, but as we went along we developed a kind of pink and black gothic fairytale theme, pink being my favourite colour, and black being Craig's!

March 4, 2013
When Theo & Lisa started an online campaign to get Craig David to perform at their August wedding, they never really thought they'd pull it off. But if you don't ask you don't get and all that...and with their help of their YouTube video that went viral, Mr David did in fact show up to the wedding and perform to their astonished guests! "We met in Oceana nightclub", began Theo. "Lisa thought I really had the movement of a dancer! Craig David's music brought us together and having him there at the wedding was literally a dream come true."
"Our wedding was inspired by everything we love", continued Lisa. "Music, fashion, friends and family. It really was a giant party. We didn't want anyone to pay for anything apart from their travel there. For us, this was a party to celebrate everything our incredible friends and family have done for us over the years. We had a free bar which was one of the best things we did. The wedding was held in my dad's back garden and we also had a camping village at the bottom of the garden where 90% of our guests camped-including myself and Theo! We sent a 'tent tag' with our invites, and asked everyone to deliver a tent to our house one week before the wedding. We then put them all up so they were ready for everyone when they arrived!"

They even converted the shed into 'The Poppy Red Shed' (Poppy Red is a bar in Birmingham which the bride and groom first met) which they stocked with local ales, spirits and liquours.
