I trust you had a good Christmas and Santa was nice to you? Down my chimney fell a swanky new 18.5″ wide screen monitor (droooool) a Fuji Instax , a PINK Vivienne Westwood bracelet and an ‘eco cup’ . These are my favouritest presents. Santa obviously knows me very well – that I am a total blogging and photography geek, that Vivienne Westwood makes me happy and that I drink way too much coffee! I am muchly looking forward to playing with all my new toys and will certainly be scanning in some of my Instax shots soon. Was Santa just as good to you?
Anyway, it’s nice to have you back, it’s been lonely without you dear reader. Although I am going to keep blogging between now and new year, the posts maybe a bit sparcer than usual. I’ll still be here, plugging along though, so please don’t hesitate to still get in touch if you need too.
The winter submissions have poured in over the festive period so I’m going to get right back into it with this snowy graveyard shoot from Jeffrey Chan Tin . Bridal shoots in graveyards always seem to provoke some kind of controversy (who knows!?) but how can anybody argue that these images aren’t ridiculously stunning? I really do love the snow…
If you want to see more of this gorgeous Goth gal then check out this disgustingly fabulous zombie shoot and seriously sexy fashion shoot – both also shot by the uber talented Jeffrey Chan Tin .
Thanks to Jeffrey for sharing the fun and frolics with us

A photo shoot featuring the Rock n Roll Bride planning notebooks!? Oh yes that's one sure-fired way to get my attention!
"We styled the whole shoot ourselves using items from eBay (and of course the Rock n Roll Bride notebook," photographer Jaye of Tux & Tales Photography told me. "We decided we would do a few styled shoots ourselves on a shoestring budget. I think it is a great way to show brides that they can have a fun and fab style with a little pocket change and a lot of elbow grease. I hope you enjoy my ultra-rad millinery. Picture me sitting on the living room floor, feathers flying everywhere whilst my cat tries to run off with the hat in his mouth every time I turn around to get another feather. The bouquet I made myself out of crepe paper. Boo (our model) is a burlesque performer so she did her own hair & make up!"

This session is way to awesome! When I opened the initial email from photographer Stephanie, I gasped. "Is that the real Dolly Parton?!"
"It sure is," came the response, "My lovely friend Rebecca was married last month in Gatlinburg, TN. Before her wedding, we did a very special photoshoot with her Aunt Dolly at a family home in Sevierville. Since Dolly is not only Rebecca’s aunt, but also her godmother, Rebecca had the idea to do a shoot where Dolly acts as her fairy godmother, who has come to get her ready for her big day. Here is the story for you to enjoy!"

A Macabre Sweeney Todd Inspired Wedding Shoot: Amy & Paul

I'm not going to lie, I'm a little freaked out by this shoot... in fact I'm damn right scared. I don't think I'd like to get stuck in a dark alley with this pair as lovely as I bet they are when they're not covered in fake blood. Amy & Paul went all out with this post-wedding shoot - murder, fake blood, suicide and all!
Warning: this baby is not for the faint hearted. I'm under no disillusion that not everybody is going to like or 'get' this. But Paul & Amy do and really, that's all that matters isn't it?!

A Runaway Bride Styled Shoot

May 2, 2012
London wedding photographer Ann Charlotte set up this morning's editorial shoot in order to showcase an idea she'd had running through her head for a while. "I love fairytales and this fictional fairytale wedding/fashion shoot was inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the idea of a runaway bride. I wanted to shoot a misunderstood bride, running away from her wedding in tears. After some soul searching she eventually came back home to a waiting husband-to-be and a reconciliation."

A Simple Bridal Shoot on the Barcelona Hills

August 15, 2012
April in Barcelona. Teresa and film photographer Miguel Varona headed away from the city and up the hills to Montseny natural park to shoot a set of simple bridal portraits. "It wasn't the perfect day", wrote Miquel. "The sun didn't shine, but the atmosphere we had was perfect to recreate the special moments for a bride on her wedding day."
"Teresa wore a leather jacket a boots with her simple dress. 'Why not mix tradition and simplicity?' I thought. 'Why not show that tradition is compatible with personality?'"
