Lucie and Leigh were married in Essex at the bride’s aunt’s house. They hired a tipi and set it up in the garden!
“As we got married in my auntie’s back garden it made the whole vibe of the wedding very casual and had a more intimate feel”, said the bride. “The day had a 70s Summer of Love vibe and was very laid back and bohemian.”
“Our wedding ceremony was just so beautiful. Even more beautiful than I could ever of planned. The sky was so blue and the sun was shinning from the moment I opened my eyes. We had an outside ceremony with no plan b so someone was on our side that day. My aunt had roses planted in the courtyard which was directly In front of where we said our vows. We had 24 rows of chairs to seat all 120 of our guest and an aisle made from of Persian rugs which were hired from penny at The Little Lending Company. We kept the ceremony short and sweet because, let’s face it, no one goes to a wedding for the soppy stuff they go to get smashed!”
Being able to host the wedding at a family home meant they saved the most money on the venue hire, although their biggest expense was the tipi. “The tipi was a lot but it was worth every penny”, she explained. “The guys who set up for us were absolutely fantastic.”
“The best thing about the wedding was getting to plan such a wonderful day with the one you love. We wouldn’t do anything differently, it was perfect.”

Tattoos, tears and a seriously cute couple. Toni & Colin's wedding is what my dreams are made of. These guys are THE perfect Rock n Roll couple and they're wedding slays me. Plus they had Sassy of Assassynation as their wedding photographer so they instantly go way up in the cool stakes with me!
The wedding was held at The Quay, Musselburgh, on 10th November. "Colin and I met online what feels like a life time ago but wasn't all that long ago in the grand scheme of things", Toni began. "We spoke for a month or so online and then he made plans to come over from Northern Ireland to visit me in Edinburgh. 'I'll come for the weekend,' he said. Well, he arrived and he's yet to leave! We've lived together from day one and, including the night before the wedding, we are yet to spend one single night apart. It's a good job he makes me laugh as much as he does!"

Are you ready for some unapologetic girlishness mixed with cute button and origami details alongside a kick ass heavily tattooed couple, pink dreadlocks, animal onesies and an awesome backyard setting? Well then you my dear are in luck because that's exactly what I have for you today!
Soya and Skip met in a rock club in Lincoln and after just a year of dating she proposed on 29th February! "From the beginning we knew we didn't want a traditional wedding", the bride began. "They are lovely and all, but they can really lack personality. We used things that we love to decorate. My favourite part of the whole day was the ceremony. It was emotional but with lots of light-hearted laughs. Our readings and vows summed us both up perfectly. We even had mention of our ever growing number of pet rats, Batman and Robin and a zombie apocalypse in our vows which were followed by a hand fasting."

A Marie Antoinette Style Gothic Fairytale: Stan & Lotti

that tap into this theme. But I think Lotti is the best example of a Marie Antoinette bride since... well... me! In fact I think she actually steals my crown. The pantaloons, the white/grey hair, the shoes... her look is just perfect!
"I’m an alternative model in my spare time and I've always been creative in my appearance so I was never going to go for something conventional for my wedding!" began the bride. "I’m very into period costume and I love the spectacular dress of the court of Versailles at the time of Marie Antoinette so I thought I would recreate some of the decadence and indulgence of the court for our big day! We chose the blue and white theme as this shade of blue was one of Marie Antoinette’s favourites. The toile de jouy fabric of the bridemaids dresses was also popular in Europe at the time. Kiku Boutique in Manchester dressed us all."

Colour Pop Glaswegian Wedding: Claire & Tom

Marrying her sweetheart in August of last year, newlywed Claire told me all about their Glaswegian wedding. "Whilst on paper our wedding wasn't overtly Rock n Roll, our journey to get down the aisle definitely offers a slightly offbeat tale. Namely because in the two years leading up to our nuptials we collectively lost ten stone between us - the equivalent of 20ish new-born babies, a Saint Bernard dog, or Britney Spears. The toughest journey of my life, losing 70% of our collective weight drop, I lived, breathed and blogged the whole shebang, and whilst I still have a few more pounds to shift, that I made it down the aisle in the most beautiful dress I've ever seen, no longer morbidly obese, is the proudest moment of my life so far."
