This colourful bridal shoot is so fun! You’ve gotta love model Amanda ‘s pink hair (some loyal readers might recognise her as her unicorn wedding was featured inside issue 4! ), the Couture Company dress and that fabulous Scottish landscape.
“When meeting with photographer Tub of Jelly , our conversation moved very quickly towards more fun and colourful options for the shoot – candy pink thistles and tiaras delicately constructed from metallic florals”, explained stylists Ginger and Lime .
“From the planning stages we knew that we wanted a model with a beautiful edge to her look. Our muse led us down a grassy path of discovery! Mint green sequins, metallics and exotic pastel flowers. We wanted to create a look that was totally unnatural and dramatic, with the slightest hint of rock royalty princess.”

June 25, 2017
I'm not usually one to get persuaded by flattery, but when a photographer Isabel Sacher emailed me to tell me that this bridal photo shoot was 100% inspired by Rock n Roll Bride, well, I had to check it out! It's pretty mad to think that this little blog I started in secret ten years ago is now inspiring someone living in a completely different country to create an alternative bridal shoot!

As a girl who's more than slightly obsessed with weddings and photography, there's pretty much nothing more thrilling to me than discovering new (to me) wedding photographer that is INCREDIBLE. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does I feel like I've won the wedding-blogging-lottery. And don't even get me started on what happens when I discover a videographer with as much talent as this. Actual tears people, there were actual tears.

Dr Who Wedding Inspiration

This shoot is certainly going to appeal to all you Whovians out there. Come on then, tell me, who's having Dr Who influences in their wedding? "Ever since I became a fan of Doctor Who I’d wanted to do a styled shoot and combine it with one of my other favourite things in life: weddings, of course!" explained photographer Kat Forsyth. "I’d seen a couple of Who-themed shoots around, but I always felt that none of them got it quite right; they were either really pretty, floral and sparkly, or a little too much like a cheesy costume party. I was sure that by assembling a hand-picked team of Doctor Who geeks (read: experts), we could come up with a shoot that not only captured the quirky and fun aspect of the show, but also the atmosphere."

Harnaam Kaur has polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which meant she started growing a beard from aged 11. Battling to remove her hair every day, and bullied at school, she started to self harm and considered suicide. Harnaam is now a body-confidence and anti-bullying activist and she fully embraces her unique look and hopes to encourage others to do the same. So when this bridal shoot using Harnaam as the model was submitted to me I nearly jumped out of my skin with excitement!

February 15, 2013
Last October I was honoured to be asked to act as a judge for the bridalNEXT! awards which were taking place as part of A Most Curious Wedding Fair. Alongside fellow judges Peta Hunt, fashion editor of You & Your Wedding Magazine, Rachel Atwell, owner of swanky London wedding boutique Luella’s Boudoir, and Hazel Holtham of vintage store & blog Rag and Bow we selected Veronica Dearly as our overall winner, and the one to watch for 2013.
As part of the prize Veronica and the three runners up were invited to take part in an editorial fashion shoot. Now I don't know about you, but if this is the caliber of bridal talent coming out in 2013, it's going to be a very exciting year indeed.
