The wedding shoot, organised by the bride herself, took place in France, near Lyon. She wanted something colourful and different for her bridal party shots.
“We wanted COLOURS”, she said. “We also wanted a location that would have character. We found this old factory with no roof and instantly loved it! We wanted to have different vendors that we trust working on the photos. I had long fluid dresses in mind which would be in opposition to the structure of the factory which was very square, hard and partially destroyed.”
“We wanted to do these photos to show different styles for brides”, she concluded. “This was for the more alternative and Rock n Roll brides, who are maybe hesitating about wanting to create a wedding that totally looks like them.”

If I'm being 100% truthful, I've been a little bit over styled wedding shoots for a while now. Some of you might have noticed that I share less and less of them on my site these days. In the most part it's actually because I simply have too many awesome weddings I want to share instead (yay!) but in others its because there really are a lot of boring shoots being produced. Although not strictly bridal, this 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' shoot makes my heart sing! What's not to love about frothy petticoats, crystal embellished accessories and coloured smoke bombs?! Set in the quaint English countryside, the quirky and edgy nature of the styling really pops! Aren't these some girls you'd love to hang out with... or have as your bridesmaids?! Er yes please!

“Rusalka” Styled Wedding Shoot

For the photo shoot at the latest Photography Farm workshop, photographer Lisa Devlin knew she needed to do something big. After all, at the last Farm Gareth and I got married again! After seeing Megan and Grant's gorgeous wedding on Rock n Roll Bride, and reading how much Megan loves Disney (and just so happens to resemble a certain crimson haired mermaid) the ideas started bubbling away. She wanted to put a different twist on the mermaid idea though and eventually came across the story of Rusalka, from which The Little Mermaid movie was based. Luckily Megan and Grant also loved the idea and we're thrilled to model for her!
