Do you remember Anna & Ryan’s Old Fashioned Love Affair wedding? Well, Mysi & Craig, the photographers of that soiree sent me their very own wedding – they got hitched a few weeks after!
Mysi & Craig got married at a lodge in the middle of nowhere, near her parent’s house in Illinois. They made a lot of the details – throwing themselves wholeheartedly into the DIY! They created their own programs to look like newspapers and got their invites printed onto handkerchiefs, the design of which was by the amazing etsy artist Heather Jenny .
Mysi wore her Mum’s wedding dress but had it re-vamped by Dame Couture in Chicago. Their reception decor was based on a house Craig grew up in, which was built in the 1800’s and was actually a funeral home for a long time! They used antiques bought and borrowed to give it an authentically ‘old’ feel. The tables were littered with vintage style pin backs, skeleton keys, seed paper packets, dark chocolates re-sleeved in vintage book pages. Each table also had a stack of books and vintage teacups full of flowers as the centrepieces.
Lots of people got drunk and skinny dipped in the lake… i ate 400 vegan cupcakes… Craig lost his shoes… and my dress has about 7 wine stains on it from other people showing off their dance moves (i was sober all night, folks 🙂
plus, i saw a shooting star. on my wedding night..
Thanks to Mysi & Craig for sending their wedding to me..wow. wow. WOW!

Shelly & Jeff had a wedding that perfectly epitomised them. From the turquoise and orange pom poms and the personalised 'All You Need is Love' M&Ms to their friend playing 'Blackbird' by The Beatles and Dr Seuss' 'Oh The Places We Will Go' as gifts. From the sparrow salt & pepper shakers as a cake topper and succulents as centrepieces to the their customised 'lunchboxes' by Pink Avocado..oh yes yes yes! Shelly's beautiful dress was by Linda Asaf and I love it all!

We may be well on our way towards the depths of winter (waah!) but I thought I'd just cling onto those hazy Summer days for just a little while longer by sharing Lynne & Stevie's June wedding. The quintessentially British vibe perfectly accompanied by vintage and retro touches was just too good to pass up.

Ellie and Ed wanted their June wedding to not only reflect them - their likes and loves - but to be a fun day for everyone, full of DIY details. The day started with an emotional ceremony at Aldenham School, Elstree and the reception was in tipis on Buckettsland Farm, Well End. "We said the whole way through the planning process that we didn't have a theme but looking back it was essentially junk and glitter", began the bride. "If you ever saw our flat, you would know that we’re not matchy-matchy people in the slightest. I love tack and have a big collection of oddities, plus I have an obsession with the stars and the moon and anything glittery, so I always knew they would end up making an appearance."

Markéta and Sam said "I do" within the Ruins of Castle Košumberk in the Czech Republic. Their colourful theme represented the two of them, and overall their theme was love and hearts! "We love colourful things and bright styles so our theme for the wedding could be called a heartfelt kaleidoscope meets 50s twist and shout!", Markéta said. "Hearts were easy. I love Melissa shoes and I just loved my wedding shoes. When Sam proposed I ordered them just two days after. They have a big cute heart and so we decided a heart theme for the whole wedding sounded good.

An usual wedding theme perhaps, but Antanas and Kristina knew exactly what they wanted for their Lithuanian wedding. "The first part of our theme was cherries", explained the bride. "Two red ripe cherries joined together, what better symbol of partnership? Red also means strong and passionate love. The sweetness symbolises happiness and the joined top symbolised commitment and togetherness. It became our logo for all of our stationary and guest favors. It was the background detail for the whole event."

Heather and Jeremy had a distinctive 1920s vintage theme for their South Carolina wedding. Held at The Farm at Ridgeway, the Friday wedding was a true labour of love, with the bride hand crafting and collecting nearly everything herself. She scoured thrift shops and antique stores and got a lot of things from Etsy.

A Handmade Florida Wedding : Mike & Melissa
Kat
May 1, 2012
Working in the music industry it was important to Mike & Melissa that their wedding suited their lifestyle and sensibilities and 1903 Hontoon, a vacation property in Deland Florida, turned out to be the perfect place. "Mike is a local musician and recently I have decided to leave my job and become his manager!" began the bride. "We have been together for almost 4 years now and over the next two we will be setting up our lives to hit the road indefinitely until we find the best place to live! We are too hot here in Florida and always long to be in the mountains. We changed our wedding date 3 times just so that we could have it at this venue, because as far as Florida goes it was pretty hard to find a place that really spoke of who we are. We chose 1903 Hontoon, a vacation property that used to be an old boat & motor repair shot. It has an awesome feel to it. Our wedding is hardcore DIY & hand made - from 1,000 paper cranes to the tablecloths to the bridesmaid dresses and jewelry. I'm extremely crafty so I have been a non-stop force of productivity in creating everything I possibly can for this day. With that being said it is REALLY important to us to have our wedding captured because every detail is so dear to our hearts! The two of us never imagined that we would get married but, love eventually finds you and before we left for our travels it was important to us to share this bond and experience with our families."
