Stylist Karrie Anne Holland had the idea for this glamorous Rock n Roll wedding shoot when she moved to Seattle. Inspired by the vibrant artist scene, and the grunge influence of the 90s (particularly Nirvana of course) she set about pulling together this shoot inspired by them both.
“A styled shoot is definitely fuel for the creative soul!” she said. “Being new to the area I wanted to connect with other artists and the small business community and this was the best way I knew how.”
“The edgy feel of downtown Tacoma really influenced the vibe for the shoot as well. We knew we wanted to make music an intricate part of this shoot, while still incorporating the glam side of Rock n Roll.”
“Most of the shots were taken in downtown Tacoma; the venue was at a beautiful space called Events on 6th, which has an incredible industrial loft-like reception area along with the cosiest vintage chapel. A lot of our shots were also done at a local record store called Hi-Voltage Records.”
“We felt this shoot captured a part of who the ‘bride’ was”, she concluded, “her love for music, her love for her city, her signature hairstyle, a favourite jacket… We took all those elements of what makes her who she is and fused that with the elegance of a traditional wedding day.”
