Linder and Sean were married in May. They had just £3500 to spend but they managed to pull of their ‘Up’ themed wedding without a hitch! Their only major expense was their photographer, VeVi Wedding Photography, everything else was super affordable or DIY.
The wedding was held at Preston Hall Museum. Their reception was in Mink Bar in the city. “We loved the Disney Pixar movie ‘Up’ and the relationship between Carl and Ellie”, wrote the bride. “Its one of those films we have watched with our girls Ella and Mia a number of times. We loved the way that they go through life together and even when challenges are hard Ellie encourages Carl to go for his dream. This is just like Sean and I so we thought this was the perfect theme for our wedding!”
“Our theme was all about adventure. We of course had to have brightly coloured balloons, grape soda badges and yellow dresses for our girls just like Ellie’s dress in the movie. Our cake was made to look like suitcases. Except the cake, pretty much everything was DIY. I really enjoyed creating all the bouquets and buttonholes with my mum. Our friend Joanna made us crochet badges that featured on my garter as well as the girls corsages!”
The bride’s dress was inexpensive and from eBay, her shoes were Irregular Choice. “We really wanted things to be as informal as possible so Sean wore jeans and tweed our girls wore yellow dresses with comfy converse boots!”
“For us our day was all about becoming a family together”, she concluded. “We made promises to each other’s daughters and after exchanging our rings we had a silver locket for each of the girls. Beginning our journey together as a family was the focus of the day.”
