The glorious wedding of Val and Jones was held at Vinyols Camps in Spain. They wanted the day to be relaxed, fun and full of details that were personal to them. Val carried a ‘bouquet’ of broccoli instead of flowers because she is a huge advocate for sustainability and minimalism, and they drank tea as part of their ceremony because they both love it!
“Jones loves the colour white and I am an advocate for sustainable things, so both these ideas inspired our wedding”, wrote Val. “We wanted a 3-day wedding too because we had lots of people coming in from quite a long way away.”
“Our theme was a relaxed summer picnic. We particularly loved how we had so much time to talk and mingle with all our guests. Having a 3-day event meant we weren’t worried about time constraints.”
“Our biggest expenses were our photographer and the jazz band”, she continued, “but we still planned the whole wedding for under 1200 euro. I mean, my bouquet of broccoli only cost €2.50, that’s hard to top!”
“My advice for other couples is quite practical”, she concluded, “but it would be to check in with your guests a week or so before the wedding to make sure they’re still coming. Doing that will make sure there are no last minute no-shows!”
