James and DevAnn chose a ranch in Southern Colorado as their venue for their summer wedding. They wanted somewhere that would reflect their rustic, vintage theme and one where they could have the whole day in one place.
“We both have a love for vintage and antique items so we decided to thrift for each and every one of our centrepieces and other various décor”, explained the bride. “We also did lots of DIY such as the stationery, the bar, all the signs and the picture display. We also did the favours ourselves which were a CD with our favourite love songs on.”
Brush Canyon Ranch was perfect for what we wanted. We saved money by doing all our DIY projects!”
“There’s not much we would have done differently”, DevAnn concluded, “but maybe we would have booked some sort of DJ for the evening. We used our iPad and it didn’t quite go as we hoped. It didn’t really matter on the day though and I would advise other couples to not sweat the little stuff. At the end of the day this is a celebration of the love you share for each other, not a day to worry about everyone else.”

For their late summer wedding Sarah & James wanted something relaxed, quirky and quintessentially English So they opted for a tea party style reception in the Suffolk countryside. The wedding was held at Otley Hall, a 16th Century moated hall surrounded by 10 acres of gardens and which has been voted one of the top 20 Historic Houses in the UK.

Rachel and Ryan wanted a beautiful but fun wedding so they decided on a subtle vintage carnival theme. They didn't want it to be cheesy or too overly done, and "No clowns" was top of their list of requirements. "We wanted it to feel like a beautiful whimsical wedding at a carnival and not have it be a cheesy carnival wedding," began Rachel. "We also wanted people to have a good time. We didn't want people saying 'that was nice' we wanted them to shout 'that was fun!' The ceremony was heartfelt enough to make you cry, but funny enough to make you laugh with quirky remarks and personal heartfelt vows. From the start we asked people on the invitations to wear bow ties and suspenders. Everyone loved the dress code and looked straight out of the 50s as the music blared."

Sarah & Mike were married on the weekend after Independence Day. They wanted a relaxed wedding that was a celebration, and one that all their family and friends would enjoy. "I would describe our wedding theme as a 'rural, homemade, Independence Day picnic'," began the bride. "We first looked at historic mansions in the area but quickly realized they would be out of our price range and we wouldn’t have much flexibility customizing our wedding. They would pick the DJ, and we’d have to select a meal from their menu for example. Then, when driving home from Baltimore one night, we drove past a park in Carroll County that was covered with beautiful flowers and several 18th century buildings, including a working gristmill. We stopped and walked around and discussed how perfect this place would be to get married and we decided to look into it. Luckily, they did allow weddings and after all the quotes we had from the mansions we were shocked at how affordable this place was!"

Eric and Megan's colourful Oklahoma wedding took place in May. They wanted an outdoor ceremony and the Festivities Event Center in El Reno was the perfect setting. They also wanted a chilled out wedding where their guests could relax and so they really didn't care about too much fuss and didn't stress out over all the little details.
