Marcy and War’s wedding was pirate themed! The day was held at Castello di Leguigno restaurant in Casina and their ceremony was officiated by a friend. Both the bride and groom wore pirate costumes made for them by Midnight Costumes . They also made the bride’s bouquet from bones, shells and rope. The couple also asked all their their guests to dress up, and everyone obliged!
“I didn’t want a wedding like all the others”, began the bride. “We are both cosplayers and nearly everyone of our guests is too. It’s a really large group of friends and we travel all throughout Italy and attend conventions. The idea of a pirate theme was inspired by Pastafarianism (Church of the flying spaghetti monster !) We wanted to make sure everyone would be dressed up so wearing a costume was a must-do on our invitation.”
“We weren’t really fussed with décor and details, mainly because we figured our guests would ornate the venue enough with the amazing variety of costumes”, she continued. “We just had a few skulls dotted about an a treasure chest cake which we made ourselves!”
Diabula Rasa since the dawn of time. We’ve always been huge fans and when we asked them if they did private parties and explained them our idea for the wedding, not only did they accept, but they agreed to only get the travel expenses covered in exchange for a seat at the reception!”
“There really is nothing we would change about our wedding, it was perfect”, the bride concluded. “Our advice to other couples would be to be yourself. .f you don’t want to invite someone, don’t do it. If you don’t want that dress, don’t buy it! Forget tradition, it is YOUR wedding and your party. Nothing is impossible or inappropriate. Make your dream wedding come true!”

Unlike so many Italian weddings that they'd been to before, Michelangelo and Francilla wanted a day that was big, ridiculous and most of all fun! Francilla told me all about it, "In Italy it’s quite impossible to have a different wedding and not do everything traditionally. It’s so hard to get away from the 'rules' that everyone says you have to obey, but we worked hard to make sure we did! Michelle & Deborah's touching ceremony was one of the main reasons I wanted to share their wedding with you all today. Quite apart from all the beautiful and individual details the couple put into their day, the readings and poems that they selected for their ceremony made this wedding really special and signified their relationship perfectly.
They chose Shakespears Sonnet 116, a section from the children's book "I Like You" by Sandol Stoddard and "I carry your heart with me" by E.E Cummings for their vows. Finally in order to include the fight for equality they read the Massachusetts ruling on marriage. They thought it was so simple and basic and spelled out what marriage meant to them in a perfect way.

There was no doubt in my mind that I had to share this wedding with you. My heart skipped a beat as I clapped eyes on the beautiful Sarah and her stunning movie starlet-esque red wedding dress from The Couture Company and I flicked through Toast of Leeds' photographs holding my breath. What an utterly beeeeeeeautiful wedding.
"Our venue was Buckland Hall in the Brecon Beacons National Park, a country house in the Welsh mountains, that we could personalise and make our own for a long weekend", Sarah began. "We had free reign of the house and grounds, which we decorated with family photos and personal belongings that we've collected during our time together. Sixty of our guests stayed on the night of our wedding and close family the night before. The ceremony was held in a room with views of rolling park land, the River Usk and snow capped mountains beyond."

Getting engaged on the top of Toyko Tower in Japan in 2010, Emalie & Duncan's wedding was never going to be traditional. With a bride rocking mermaid green hair and a groom adding a much needed modern twist to the tweed suit, this couple wanted a wedding that screamed 'them'. A field in Cookhill, Evesham was chosen as the location and the pair were married outside, in front of a homemade giant heart shaped flower wreath.

Back to the future, Indiana Jones, zombies... If you were to ask me to list my all time favourite things they would all be way up there. So when Ellery & Arlyn's geeky gorgeous wedding landed on my lap I was more than a little bit excited to blog it... but also rather gutted that we didn't do our wedding this way!
The Canadian couple were married at The Ironworks Studios in Vancouver. "The Ironworks used to be an old iron factory near the train tracks just outside of Gastown," began the bride. "It's now an eclectic venue used mainly for concerts and TV or movie shoots. We went to our friend’s book signing event there a few years ago and when we started talking about venues, the Ironworks was the place we both thought of first."
