The Blogcademy Online launches this Thursday (eeek!) so to celebrate and get you all warmed up, I thought it would be fun to do another Q&A post. But to throw a cat among the pigeons, I decided to record myself talking through my responses, instead of just writing them!
In the audio I answer the following questions:
♥ What are your biggest turn off’s for a website?
♥ Who do you really admire in business?
♥ What should I do about my friend who’s copied my business idea?
♥ How do I get more interaction on my Facebook page?
♥ How can we get the word out about our new company?
♥ What advice do you have for someone who blogs as a hobby but wants to make it their full time job?
♥ How do you deal with haters or mean-spirited people?
♥ How do I stand out in a crowded market?
♥ I had a leg amputated last year, is there still space for me as a wedding photographer?
♥ How do I do market research for my new company?
♥ How did you start your career and how do you make your money?
Don’t forget to sign up to The Blogcademy mailing list (enter your name and email address where it says “Get our top secret blogging resources” on the front page of our website ) if you’d like to receive a discount code on the course when it launches.
Roll on Thursday!

It's hard to believe that in just under a year The Blogcademy has taught over 300 women (and a few token men!) about blogging and how they can conquer their corner of the internet. When we first launched the workshop we thought we'd meet some people, teach them some stuff and that would be about it. Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine just what an impact attending this two day class would have on the attendees lives... and ours!

Last year I attended, spoke at and organised more live events than ever before. While hard work, they are also incredibly rewarding and so much fun to do. I'm thrilled that doing them is such a huge part of my business now. The Blogcademy in particular has changed my life so much!
The first live events I hosted were parties for blog readers and people in the wedding industry, I then moved on to doing small afternoon-long, in-person blogging workshops before launching The Blogcademy with Gala and Shauna in 2012. Needless to say I've learnt a lot of lessons about what does and does not work when putting on events.

I think I can safely speak for my fellow headmistresses when I say that this year has been a non-stop whirlwind of epic proportions! Since last October we've taught ten classes, with three still to come before the year is out. When we launched The Blogcademy in August last year we didn't know if anyone would actually want to come, so the fact that today we're announcing our SECOND world tour is pretty damn exciting indeed!

Just a little note to let you all know, I'll be switching over the majority of my coverage of The Blogcademy to The Green Room from now on. The reason being that I anticipate that these posts will be of most interest to the people reading the business and personal updates on my blog rather than the weddings. So make sure you're checking in here regularly if this kind of stuff floats your boat.
