My head is buzzing from everything that’s been going on this past week. It’s been FULL ON. I’ve been on the road with The Blogcademy , on the other side of the planet in fact, teaching classes in Sydney and Melbourne. Tomorrow we have to get up and 5am for our flight to Auckland to do it all again too! It’s been kinda crazy but that hasn’t stopped us squeezing in some beach time at Bondi and a free live broadcast from our hotel room!
If you missed said livestream, you can watch the ridiculousness below. In it we tell you all about our accommodation mishap, spill the beans on The Blogcademy Online (OMG soooo exciting!) and answer a ton of viewer questions about blogging and business. It’s as fun and silly as you might imagine and you should definitely hit play!
I hope you’ve all had a gorgeous week. Being surrounded by Christmassy things in the Summer is super weird. I’m actually quite looking forward to getting home, bundling up and getting ready for Christmas Northern Hemisphere style!

Hello beautiful! This update comes to you from a very chilly Chicago, where I'm sat in my Air B&B digs with Gala and Shauna, hiding from the weather and planning our adventures in this brand new city.

Yay it's my birthday! Although I do feel really bloody old now. I'm THIRRRRTYY freakin' ONE! OMG I'm totally ancient.
Although this time last year I was definitely struggling with the thought of leaving my 20s behind, the past twelve months have been awesome (hello! I now have a magazine in actual shops!) Nothing actually really changes the older you get, does it? I mean, you're still you. You still have complete control over what you wear, how you act, and what you do. I have no plans to dye my hair a more respectable colour or to stop dancing in sequins on beaches!

When we launched our 2013 Blogcademy world tour last March, we were blown away by how quickly the tickets started to sell, but no city was as fast as Melbourne. Within only a few days the class had sold out and so we made the executive decision to extend our trip down under and add a second date to the mix - and I'm so glad we did, Melbourne was one of my favourite cities to teach in all year!

Fun With Film & Rainbows

I love old film cameras. There's something so innocently wonderful about having a tangible and imperfect photograph to hold in your hand. In this hyper digital age, I think we've all been so quick to forget that unadulterated joy of taking your rolls of 35mm to the developers and waiting with baited breath to get the prints. They didn't always turn out, but that was weirdly part of the appeal. When you did get that one perfect shot, without previews on the back of the camera or Photoshop wizardry to help, it was utterly magnificent.

Oh my God, I'm BACK! I know it's a terrible cliché but these past two weeks have been a whirlwind of epic proportions. From Reading to Santorini to Mykonos to London (where we taught two back-to-back workshops no less, what were we thinking?!) Gala, Shauna and I haven't had much time to rest, but we've had the time of our lives in the process.

I've been throwing the word ‘whirlwind’ around a lot lately, but goodness these past few weeks have really been one! I've strolled around the streets of Manhattan, danced with a disco ball, made custom lipsticks, got a crazy Japanese glitter manicure, found my perfect wrist candy, had a coughing fit live on the internet, hosted a lunch date with our past students, eaten a tub of popcorn larger than my head, posed on velvet couches on city block corners and got locked on a rooftop... and that was just in the first few days!
We did two Blogcademy classes on this trip and I'll be blogging all about the Minneapolis adventures soon, but today it's all about my favourite city in the whole wide world - New Yaaawk!

Presenting: The Blogcademy Home School

The Blogcademy started as an in-person workshop. Bursting into the world in October 2012, we hosted our inaugural class in New York City. But when we flung open those metaphorical turquoise doors, we really had no idea if it would take off. We actually joked the day before that if no-one booked in we'd just have an elaborate sleepover in the space we'd hired and the internet would never know a thing about it. Luckily for us that didn't happen! Sixteen classes later and we've now taught over 400 amazing people all over the world.
It's been an incredible ride so far but you ain't seen nothin' yet!
