OK, so I told you my second Halloween inspired shoot of the day was worth the wait… now do you believe me!? Shot by the EPIC Sassy of Assassynation at a workshop she put on recently, this is a Halloween shoot like no other! Some of these shots are genuinely terrifying.
“I put together a styled shoot as part of my workshop, the Sassterclass. My styled shoots always tend to be out of the ordinary… something a bit different to your standard wedding stuff. Mainly I love doing them just for fun, and to push people out of their comfort zone a bit. Each attendee gets time to direct and shoot the couple so that they can then introduce their own creativity and style.”
“As I really wanted to do something in time for Halloween, I started with an idea of scarecrows and it moved on from there to Dark Harvest. One of my brides from this year is an amazing, creative person who has since started her own planning and styling company so I enlisted her help and she got to work crafting headpieces, carving pumpkins, and gathering replica skulls. I also spoke to Jo from The Couture Company about crafting a stunning gown for our ‘bride’. I decided that I needed a cake, but I wanted something unique, so I called on my amazing friend Annabel from Conjurer’s Kitchen (seriously, her cakes are TO. DIE. FOR).”
“Finally, I love birds of prey so I really wanted to include some birds in the shoot. Originally I wanted vultures but in the end I opted for owls and hawks as vultures are not so readily available.”
