Talia and Indra wanted to reflect both their backgrounds in their wedding, Jewish and Hindu. They were married at Wit Hotel in Chicago and had a ceremony with both Hindu and Jewish elements.
“We wanted the wedding to be bright and vibrant, aka as colorful as possible,” said the bride. “So our color scheme was so pinks, teals, blues, greens, purples, you name it! Good food and drinks was also a biggie for us. The food was inspired by all of our favorite dishes from our travels, while the craft beers (Dirty Bastard, Zombie Dust, Edmund Fitzgerald and Sofie) had a local Midwestern theme.”
“There were so many amazing moments and we were just excited to have all of our most loved, favorite people there for us on our day. I loved doing a ‘first look’ with Indra before the ceremony and walking down the aisle to one of my favorite songs ever, ‘I got a sure thing’ by the Jackson 5 was amazing. Our rabbi was absolutely hilarious. He had me cracking up all day!”

When I featured Ainsley and Sebestien's engagement shoot in September I dubbed it "the coolest engagement shoot to date". I was pretty sure that their wedding would be suitably kick ass too but nothing (and I mean nothing!) could have prepared me for this.
While I was hanging out with their wedding photographer Janneke Storm in Queensland, she started to tell me more about their upcoming elopement in Las Vegas. I made her promise then and there to send me the photos to blog afterwards. Luckily for me (and you!) she did.

Don’t Tell The Bride: The Real Story aka Mike & Becky’s Mexican Wrestling Wedding

I have a love/hate relationship with the BBC Three show Don't Tell the Bride. On the one hand, I love a voyeuristic nosey at other people's weddings (hello! Wedding blogger criteria number one) but on the other, the obvious sensationalism of shows like this can often get a bit much. I usually sit watching the show wondering if the groom really plans the whole thing himself and if the real truth of the matter is that the production company tell him exactly what to do so they can have the usual drama that seems to follow the programme around. But mostly I wonder if the brides really have no say on ANYTHING. I mean surely you'd give him a few subtle hints beforehand, right?!

Happy Monday you lovely little critters - have I got a wedding to start this week off with a bang or what!?
Unusually I was actually submitted this wedding by the groom and via twitter because his gorgeous bride, Holly, was nervous about doing so. Er, girl, are you KIDDING me?! I'm dying over your wedding. The comic book, superhero and geek chic radness is just too good. This is one of those weddings that I genuinely wish I'd been invited to!

Katie and Christopher dropped just $1000 on their amazing wedding. They hosted it in their own home, the bride bought her dress online and the reception décor was put together by the couple themselves. They had a bubble machine on the ceiling, costume accessories, creepy mannequins, sparklers and black silk petals. Their seating was all thrifted to save cash.

A Pink & Leopard Print Themed DIY Wedding: Ele & Raph

As soon as I saw the sneak peek of Ele & Raph's wedding on their wedding photographer's facebook page, I knew I wanted to feature them... it's not really that difficult to see why is it? Could these guys be any more Rock n Roll if they tried?! The couple booked Rock n Roll Bride favourite Assassynation to capture their amazing day.
"What a great pleasure it was to have Sassy do the photography on our special day! I felt at ease as soon as I met her", began the bride. "Upon speaking to my (camera shy!) husband afterwards, he said exactly the same about Sassy, that she jumped at every opportunity to get that perfect shot and with simple instructions made him feel comfortable and contented. Ecstatic with the sneak peeks that Sassy had uploaded within less than 24 hours (wow!) onto her Facebook page, we both knew that Sassy is one Rock n Roll photographer and it would not have been the same without her!"

Annie and Evgeniy were married in October in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. They were determined not to spend a lot of money and managed to pull the whole thing off for just $2500. To do this they kept the guest list small (they only had 20 people), DIYed a lot and eliminated a lot of things that they didn't care about.
