Being a fashion designer in Brasil, Fernanda and made her own wedding dress/ She also hand stitched the one’s her bridesmaid’s wore too. Her work is inspired by Japanese culture so that, and her architect husband’s love of clean lines, influenced the theme of the wedding.
“Rodrigo came up with the whole architectural design of their venue, Fazenda Lageado “, wrote wedding photographer Marília . “He was responsible for creating specific places for the ceremony and the reception (they actually had a whole deck and set of stairs built for their ceremony), as well as designing and picking out materials and furniture used. They wanted everybody to appreciate the natural beauty of the place, so all of their décor was very minimalistic and their dance floor was under a big beautiful tree.”
“The ceremony was performed by two people, one of each of their uncles”, she continued. “Everything at their wedding was very unique, from their invitations, which opened like an origami, to the fact that they chose not to have any flowers at the ceremony. Their wedding favours were cardboard dolls of themselves, dressed (with real clothes) and holding a little tin backpack with chocolate hearts on the inside. They also had masks of their faces distributed to their guests on the dance floor. Although it was cold at the night of the wedding their guests danced until almost 3 in the morning!”

Getting engaged on the top of Toyko Tower in Japan in 2010, Emalie & Duncan's wedding was never going to be traditional. With a bride rocking mermaid green hair and a groom adding a much needed modern twist to the tweed suit, this couple wanted a wedding that screamed 'them'. A field in Cookhill, Evesham was chosen as the location and the pair were married outside, in front of a homemade giant heart shaped flower wreath.

Pheigi & Kiichiro’s Japanese/Scottish Fusion Wedding
Kat
January 19, 2011
Just wow. Like seriously, wow.
That's pretty much all I said for 5 minutes when Pheigi & Kiichiro's Japanese/Scottish fusion wedding hit my inbox this week. I almost don't know where to begin telling their epic wedding story, luckily for me the bride explained it a lot better than I ever could. The couple actually had two weddings - the first in Japan in July 2009 and the second (pictured) in Scotland in September 2010.
"My new Hubby and I actually got married in Japan (where we live) in 2009. We went to the city office and signed lots of forms to update my alien registration card, change his official address and get hitched. Which one of those forms was actually my marriage certificate I still don't know. I wore my mothers 1970's full length purple embroidered waistcoat over my purple cord flares and after we went to the crazy Japanese arcade on our street and had photos taken in the hello kitty photo booth. Much fun yet somewhat lacking in romance. We thus decided to come home to Scotland and have another celebration with my family, which we did in September. Planning my wedding from Japan was hard to say the least, especially as I wanted something a little different from the norm, and the whole thing became more of a disappointment as I spent hours trawling through ugly dresses, bland invites and over the top bling, until a good friend with similar problems directed me to your site. From then on I visited your site nearly every other day to remind myself that there were options other than white wedding package A, B or C and so in turn I am sending you my wedding in hope that it may help other brides in the UK realise the same and give them a wee break from the monotony of the wedding industry. I hope you like."

A DIY Wedding in Downtown Santa Ana: Candice & Nathaniel
Kat

One of the things that bums be out about living in the UK is that we can't get married anywhere we like - of course many couples these days opt for a humanist ceremony at the spot of their choice with the 'legal bit' taking place a few days before or after, but it's not really the same. And when I see ceremonies as gorgeous as Candice & Nathaniel right in the heart of Downtown Santa Ana, I'm even more envious!
The wedding took place on June 3rd. The couple organised everything themselves and did so for less than $5000. The ceremony was held on 2nd Street Promenade, and the reception was at Memphis at the Santora, just round the corner. The couple met online and had their first date in the area, and Nathaniel proposed on New Years Eve at Memphis at the Santora,. Basically it was the obvious location for them to have their wedding too!

Oh rainbow weddings, how I adore you. To me, there's nothing more exciting than getting a wedding just like Brianna & Alex's in my inbox on a drizzly November morning. Talk about brightening up my whole week!
The outdoor location is like a dream, and one that this gorgeous pair completely decorated themselves. They literally hand made everything - all the decor, the paper flowers and even the bride's and bridesmaid's dresses! Everything just works so well. The wedding was held at Canungra Valley Vineyards in Brisbane, Australia.
