Here comes the next one…although I think this wedding is something pretty special (didn’t I say that already today? sorry occupational hazard…)
The Bride, Melody is actually a wedding planner herself, so could you expect anything less than spectacular for her own wedding? Well ironically, being surrounded by all things wedding in her day to day life, Melody (and Will – the husband!) decided they wanted to go completely out there for their own special day…and they certainly did!
The wedding was small, intimate. The Bride wore (in her own words) ‘a killer dress not a wedding dress’ with blue shoes to match her sapphire engagement ring. Finally the most important accessory of the day was the bouquet. Before her grandmother died, Melody would read to her from her bible. So, in her honour and memory, she took the bible to the florist and he turned the bible into her bouquet! Amazing!

It feels weird to start a real wedding post with a disclaimer of sorts but this is just one of those weddings that I share with a small sense of trepidation. Without wanting to sound like anybody's mother, let's just remember that this is two people's actual wedding day and their way of expressing their love. I am under no disillusion that parts of the wedding may well divide opinion, but as always, let's keep the comments constructive and remember what Rock n Roll Bride is all about...

Like so many awesome couples these days, Vivien and Nick wanted a wedding to reflect them - and that meant going against what a lot of their friends and family thought! When people expressed disapproving words that the bride would be wearing black, she ignored them! She knew it was the right choice for her, and thank goodness she stuck with it because doesn't she look SPECTACULAR?!

Katie and Christopher dropped just $1000 on their amazing wedding. They hosted it in their own home, the bride bought her dress online and the reception décor was put together by the couple themselves. They had a bubble machine on the ceiling, costume accessories, creepy mannequins, sparklers and black silk petals. Their seating was all thrifted to save cash.

A Black Wedding Dress, A Traditional Church Wedding & A Burlesque Themed Reception: Scarlet & Craig

November 21, 2011
Scarlet & Craig's wedding wowed me as soon as I spied that dress. I was so excited to be able to share this incredible Goth extravaganza and luckily for you lot, so were the newlyweds. In fact Craig's reply when I emailed him back saying 'Yes yes, hell yes (ps your wife is hot)' was something along the lines of 'OMG so excited that you're going to feature us!!! Squeeee'.
"I'd never really thought about my wedding day growing up, so when Craig proposed on a trip to Amsterdam (with a tattoo that simply said 'Marry Me' on his wrists!) I was thrown into a bit of a panic!" Scarlet explained. "But as soon as we started planning we knew we wanted to do things our own way. Luckily we found Rock n Roll Bride, which made us realise there really are no 'rules' for a wedding, and then we just went all out! We didn't start out with one, but as we went along we developed a kind of pink and black gothic fairytale theme, pink being my favourite colour, and black being Craig's!
