So I saw this wedding on I Love Lolliblog the other day and was instantly smitten. Then when photographer Christine Chang submitted the wedding to me as well I thought ‘what the hell’ and have decided to break my self-imposed rule of not re-blogging. This wedding is too damn special and too damn rock n roll to pass up!
The gorgeous Bride Kristi, who owns her own jewellery company named Diamond Willow designed and DIYed the whole wedding – from the centrepieces to her stunning peacock bouquet, the boutonnieres and her own flower hairpiece. She wore a sample gown designed by Lian Carlo and her Mum altered the neckline and made the train detachable for dancing.
The Bridesmaids have got to be some of the most gorgeous I have ever seen, rocking their Betsey Johnson frocks, white platform shoes, babies breath bouquets and personalised ‘knuckleduster’ rings designed and made by Heist Jewelry.
Thanks to Christine for sending me these and to I Love Lolliblog for sharing them to begin with!

A DIY wedding with Holga images? Oh hell yeah baby!
Shelly & Jeff had a wedding that perfectly epitomised them. From the turquoise and orange pom poms and the personalised 'All You Need is Love' M&Ms to their friend playing 'Blackbird' by The Beatles and Dr Seuss' 'Oh The Places We Will Go' as gifts. From the sparrow salt & pepper shakers as a cake topper and succulents as centrepieces to the their customised 'lunchboxes' by Pink Avocado..oh yes yes yes! Shelly's beautiful dress was by Linda Asaf and I love it all!

Stephanie & Aaron’s Budget ‘Peacock Vintage’ Wedding
Kat
July 7, 2011
"The whole wedding was sort of 'peacock vintage' themed," newlywed Stephanie told me. "We really managed to keep the wedding cost pretty low and spent less than $12,000! We was able to do this by making our own centerpieces, boutineers, corsages, invitations, and headpieces. We also used an older, less popular florist because I knew exactly what kind of flowers I wanted, and I provided the ribbon and feathers to her, leaving no room for error."

Charly & Kelly’s Pink, Red & Valentine’s Backyard Wedding

I've got another couple that you might recognise adoring these pages this afternoon. Do you remember this incredibly gorgeous vintage, floral and tattooed bridal shoot? Well the wedding to go along with the stunning shoot is just as visually gorgeous.
Charly & Kelly has a beautiful back garden wedding in June at the bride's parent's home. The couple were married at 7pm by Lisa Torti, a mutual friend who had introduced them. They filled the garden with twinkly lights, giant pink bows and candles. The bride started collecting candy, cupcake and valentine themed items early on in the planning to use as decorations. The awesome spider candle holders used as centrepieces were purchased during Halloween, to which she added pink and red bows. The invitations were made by the groom’s aunt and included a vintage valentine that was used as the reply card.

Aimee & James were married on The Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, Ca. The day was a 1950′s inspired vintage one with a carnival vibe. The bride wore a custom made dress inspired by Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face and amazing blue shoes by Moda in Pelle. The couple were engaged in Paris. James proposed on new years and the stroke of midnight.

Off the Hook Carnival Eye Candy
Kat
November 17, 2009
I knew Amy & Jesse's wedding would be off-the-hook with it's intense awesomeness as soon as I saw and blogged their engagements a while back. Surely a couple this offbeat and rockin' couldn't have anything but a super crazy, kooky, inspirational and incredible wedding day could they? However, even I was blown off my chair when I laid eyes on these little beauties. Their DIY, carnival wedding was not only ridiculously creative and awe-inspiring but the couple themselves literally looked like a candy covered explosion of kick ass attitude and fun all over! (By the way I fully realise that my explanation of my thoughts on this wedding probably make little or no grammatical and linguistical sense - however my intense excitement over getting to blog these appears to have rendered by logical brain dysfunctional!) Got it? Right...on with the show...
A HUGE Rock n Roll thank you to Marina of Red Heart Photography for sending these over. I couldn't wait to blog these (as always) and so the photos below are actually only part 1 & 2 of her posts. Go check out her blog over the next few weeks for even more eye candy!

A Lithuanian Theme Park Wedding: Alma & Aleksandras

September 12, 2011
I don't think I've ever featured a wedding from Lithuania on the blog before, but I'm pleased to say that's all about to change...and if there are more Lithuanian weddings as awesome as this one I want to share them as well please!
Alma & Aleksandras' wedding was sent to me by their planner Laura Vagonė. "I met these two six months ago, both of them are photographers so wanted to have wedding in some special and at an interesting place. I‘ve offered them an old carousel park and they loved the idea. The ceremony was held at 8am and officiated by the the father of the groom. We had amazing party and the guests were invited to try carousel. They were happy as kids, trust me. We also had a live band playing the whole time. Everything was so great that I‘d like to share that colourful joy with you!"

Quirky, Colourful, Kitsch

I am crazy in love with Tanya & Mark's amazingly colourful DIY wedding! The event took place in Tanya's parent's backyard in Northampton, PA and totally reflected the couple's quirky, colourful, kitschy nature. They really put 100% of themselves into the day. Tanya made the invitations, the felt flowers, the centrepieces and most of the decorations herself and all of the tables were covered with unique vintage fabric sourced from various places throughout the wedding planning. One of my favourite details had got to be the pink flamingos everywhere though! Tanya says she has a slight obsession with John Waters so this detail was a must!
Tanya found her and her Bridesmaid's dress from Ebay and her amazing red birdcage veil from Events and Occasions. Her shoes were from Modcloth and her red petticoat was found at Unique Vintage.
Thanks to Tanya and Mark for sharing their day and all the gorgeous details with us!

I Love that Glove
September 9, 2012
Honestly? I struggled with what to write about today. Usually on a Sunday I'll post something non-wedding related that's caught my eye or I'll share something exciting that I've done in the week. But I shared my Photography Farm retreat escapades in this week's Thursday Treats and since then I've basically been chained to my computer replying to the squillions of emails that came in whilst I was away and writing as many blog posts as physically possible. I also spent rather a lot of time on the phone to Cosmopolitan Magazine. NO BIG DEAL (more on this soon!)
And then this wedding pinged into my inbox and it all became clear.
