These beautifully gritty wedding images were shot at an abandoned warehouse in Badajoz, Spain. Wedding photographer Jesus Caballero explains, “I had an idea to shoot an urban wedding shoot. I wanted lots of black and a simple table arrangement. Imagined this wedding to be very informal.”
“We found a very urban couple with nothing conservative about them and they were happy take part in the session. Mary is a dancer and Alvaro is passionate about bikes so we used both these things in the shoot.”
“It was very easy to create the real atmosphere of the meeting, around the true style of the couple. The décor was perfect for their personalities and it was not necessary to make anything up to make it ‘cooler’.”

This shoot was set up for Bow Wood Florist, based in Forney, a small town just outside of Dallas. They wanted some edgier images to really show modern brides what they can do. They created the bouquet but allowed photographer Britney of Tucker Images to let her imagination run wild with the styling and location of the shoot.

When some of my favourite wedding suppliers get together for a shoot at one of my favourite locations (we shot the Crown and Glory headpieces in the same studio!) I get very excited indeed... and even more so when they ask if I'd like to feature the results afterwards! Wedding photographer Lisa Jane explains, "Elbie posted a picture on twitter one day, asking if anyone wanted to get involved in an inspiration shoot inspired by it and I took one look and jumped at the chance to collaborate with her. Within minutes we also had the lovely Jo from The Couture Company offering to design us a dress for it and Abby From Cherished Vintage offering headpieces. It was amazing to be able to get creative without any restrictions. Everyone let their imaginations run wild."

All You Need is Love

As city backdrops go, I have to say Hull is killing it. The colours and street art painted on its walls along Humber Street here wake you up and shake you up, and there is a Killers lyric graffitied in hot pink - I am in love. It's perfect for urbanites wanting something edgy and contemporary for their wedding or engagement photos. Colour, culture, and plenty of buzz - it has it all.
