Megan and Tom had a chilled out, backyard BBQ wedding held at a friend’s house. “We wanted the whole experience to be a representation of ourselves and our relationship”, Megan wrote. “While we wanted everything to look beautiful, we didn’t want it to be perfect or overdone. I went shopping in thrift stores for all kinds of mismatched vases that would compliment each other. At the end of the night. guests were allowed to take all of the assortments home with them.”
“I also decided to make the cake toppers myself, as well as the wedding favors because I enjoy being creative and it’s a great keepsake to remember the day by. I also think our choice of clothing added to the overall feeling. My bridesmaids picked out their entire look for the day, from dresses to hair styles because I wanted them to look and feel great, which I don’t think would have been accomplished with matching dresses and accessories. As for the guys, they had certain unique touches to their outfits. All of them practice mixed martial arts and the twine on their boutonnière matched the color of their MMA belt.”
They had two very special guests at the wedding too, their dogs Bully and Sammi. They were both part of the wedding party! “Having them involved really helped complete our day. They are an important part of our family and all of our family and friends loved having them there Also, on a side note, it helped demonstrate to some of our friends (who shall remain nameless), that pit bull mixes can be low key and super friendly. Nothing like turning your wedding into a teachable moment!”
