Lynda and Soph were married in the Brighton bandstand followed by a tipi reception at the Knepp Castle Estate . The whole day had a very laid back vibe and they chose mint, grey and red as their colour scheme.
“As designers, we aren’t the kind of people to go for a ready-made wedding. “his was about doing what we wanted, our way”, they began. “We started off with a field and worked from there up challenging ourselves to do as much as possible (with the help of our friends). We wanted to create a fun, laid back day where everybody could really enjoy themselves, and so that meant tipis, a hog-roast with a vintage ice-cream van to serve dessert, great live music and fantastic local beer.”
“The best moment of the day was seeing each other for the first time, on Brighton Seafront, outside the bandstand”, they continued. “Wow… what a way to start the day! And then the sun breaking through the clouds just as we signed the register. And finally walking into the tipi hand-in-hand to an amazing reception from all of our friends and family, band playing, champagne glasses in hand, and with the most beautiful setting.”
The couple saved money by DIYing a lot and customising as much as possible. “We designed all of the stationery ourselves and were clever when sourcing and customisation our dresses. Lynda’s was from Ted Baker and Soph’s from Minna . We also got our friends involved in helping make all the decorations. The hog-roast was also a lot cheaper than a formal sit-down meal.”

Atmospheric Lake District Wedding: Helen & Andy

I was rather over-excited when I laid eyes on Helen and Andy's Lake District wedding, shot by the amazing Neil Douglas Photography. I mean what could be more incredible than getting wedding day portraits like these in a setting like that!? Hats off to the photographer of course, but also to the awesome couple for not being afraid to potentially get a little wet or muddy. I'd love to see more brave couples like this please, who's with me?
The wedding was held in Buttermere, with the ceremony in a local church and the reception in a tipi in Buttermere field. The couple didn't have a huge budget and opted to DIY and thrift a lot. Helen wore a dress which she bought off eBay for £100 and customised with her grandmother's vintage fur (a last minute edition due to the weather).

Ellie and Ed wanted their June wedding to not only reflect them - their likes and loves - but to be a fun day for everyone, full of DIY details. The day started with an emotional ceremony at Aldenham School, Elstree and the reception was in tipis on Buckettsland Farm, Well End. "We said the whole way through the planning process that we didn't have a theme but looking back it was essentially junk and glitter", began the bride. "If you ever saw our flat, you would know that we’re not matchy-matchy people in the slightest. I love tack and have a big collection of oddities, plus I have an obsession with the stars and the moon and anything glittery, so I always knew they would end up making an appearance."

When Theo & Lisa started an online campaign to get Craig David to perform at their August wedding, they never really thought they'd pull it off. But if you don't ask you don't get and all that...and with their help of their YouTube video that went viral, Mr David did in fact show up to the wedding and perform to their astonished guests! "We met in Oceana nightclub", began Theo. "Lisa thought I really had the movement of a dancer! Craig David's music brought us together and having him there at the wedding was literally a dream come true."
"Our wedding was inspired by everything we love", continued Lisa. "Music, fashion, friends and family. It really was a giant party. We didn't want anyone to pay for anything apart from their travel there. For us, this was a party to celebrate everything our incredible friends and family have done for us over the years. We had a free bar which was one of the best things we did. The wedding was held in my dad's back garden and we also had a camping village at the bottom of the garden where 90% of our guests camped-including myself and Theo! We sent a 'tent tag' with our invites, and asked everyone to deliver a tent to our house one week before the wedding. We then put them all up so they were ready for everyone when they arrived!"
