Erik & Brooke travelled from California to get married by Elvis at a wedding chapel in downtown Las Vegas (not photographed). After they sealed the deal, wedding photographer Laura of Top Banana Photography arrived to document a post-ceremony photo adventure. They firstly had shots taken around the downtown area, followed by Boulder City and finally the Hoover Dam.
“The type of couple that decides to get married in a wedding chapel is generally carefree and fun-loving; Brooke & Erik fit the bill perfectly”. wrote Laura. “I almost shrieked with excitement when I found out they had brought along Harold, the garden gnome from their yard. They also incorporated colorful sunglasses and bubbles to blow as additional props. We had decided on a few locations beforehand, but ultimately, we let serendipity be our guide.”
“We began right outside the wedding chapel and the immediate downtown vicinity. Afterwards we hopped in the car and travelled to Boulder City, a charming small town right outside of Vegas. We finished off around the historic Hoover Dam where bus loads of tourists whizzed by. The time flew by and when it was time to wrap up our photo adventure, we were all thrilled about the magical photographs we had just created. Definitely one of my favorite ever weddings.”
So fun! Thanks to Erik & Brooke for sharing their day with us today.

Australian John & Marnie spent six weeks travelling around the US for their honeymoon after their wedding in Las Vegas. They were in town for the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Festival and they loved the idea of getting married there. The ceremony was held at Little Church of the West, a quaint little 'mini church' looking chapel, right at the south end of the strip and the after party was at Level 107 Cocktail lounge in the Stratosphere hotel - right at the north end!

Stephanie and Sebastian travelled from their home in Germany to have a teeny tiny elopement ceremony on a dry lake bed just outside of Vegas. The bride wore a homemade dress and headpiece, and she arranged her own bouquet with flowers from Whole Foods. They brought lawn flamingos as décor and Mexican blankets to use as props for their photos.

Carrie and Neil had a red and white wedding with rockabilly and polka dot touches! The day was held at Highbury Hall in Birmingham and was full of DIY décor. "We would like to think we were far more relaxed, friendly and laid-back than other wedding we have been to", began the bride. "So many weddings we have been to seem so stiff and uptight as a whole. We wanted a fun party atmosphere with a live band playing lots rockabilly, plenty of food for people to stuff their faces, and encouraged dancing until your feet dropped off. The word 'formal' never entered our vocabulary."

Welcome to Elodie & Alexis' gorgeous French wedding. If you loved their engagement shoot this morning, then their nuptials are gonna blow your socks off! The wedding ceremony was held in the bride's parent's back garden which they decorated themselves. Alexis picked all the flowers and pulled together a bouquet of wheat for Elodie to carry down the aisle.
As I said in this morning's post, the couple are both deaf and found their film-loving deaf photographer Ashton Jean-Pierre at World Deaf Art Festival in Reims, near Paris, last Summer.

Button Moon, Moomins, Rainbow Petticoats and a Wedding in a Cave: Caroline & Johnny

June 12, 2012
When wedding photographer Sassy of Assassynation told me she'd booked a wedding through a feature on my site last year I was super thrilled. However my excitement was pretty much quadrupled when she them told me the bride was wearing a short dress... with a rainbow petticoat... with glittery turquoise leopard print wedges and ankle socks... oh yes and that they were getting married in a cave. I think died and went to wedding heaven right about then.
Caroline & Johnny were married on a Monday, on the 14th May this year. The ceremony was small - just the two of them, the celebrant and Sassy and her husband Ian, who not only photographed the event but acted as witnesses. The ceremony was at Carnglaze Caverns in Cornwall. "One fabulously weather proof venue!" the bride laughed. "Subterranean lake, 500 candles and really dangerous steps for the clumsiest bride. What could possibly go wrong?"

Mike and Manda got engaged in Vegas, so it was only natural that they go back to actually get married too. They wanted a fun and laid back day with no stress at all. They kept things pretty simple and just had fun with it!
"Because we had been to Vegas previously we knew how crazy, carefree and fun it was", Manda explained. "We wanted the same ideologies for our wedding so this was the perfect place for us to tie the knot. The whole day exceeded our expectations. We had time to reflect later on in the evening, whilst sitting back in our hotel room looking over the dancing neons on the strip drinking vodka. I think we suddenly realised we had just got married in Vegas - that was quite a defining moment. It was such a significant, romantic and awesome feeling in which everything just connected."
